|Chapter 2|
Walking in my dreamland.. chasing reality!!
..If she was really dead, then why is it that she could not feel him?.. The cool rush, everything coming to halt and then finally able to be with him.. All that followed the series of event was utter disappointment. She called him, and again, and kept trying until she realized that he was long gone. Everything was foggy which was followed by darkness. It soon unveiled a glow, almost blinding her. Her thoughts were blurred. She could hear noises. People were talking, shouting, the sound of siren had momentarily overpowered everything. It became tougher to feel him. The smell of medicines irritated her. The environment was filling her with weirdness. She had expected to find solace, which now seemed impossible to achieve.
She slightly opened her eyes to see a pattern of different colors flashing in front of her. It caused her to shut her eyes with a jerk again. She tried again, and this time she tried to capture the situation. Where was her destiny written- hell or paradise? The havoc around her did not seem to her like heaven, she thought sadly. Her hands clenched the white blanket, as she finally opened up to the earthly scenes in front of her. Nothing extraordinary, nothing expected. It was all the same- a normal hospital, buzzing with nurses and doctors. All busy in their own hectic schedule, hence took no notice of the fragile soul gazing intently at them.
They couldn't stop her. Her destiny was written-him. She thought, trying to plan out an escape followed by another trial. This time she would make sure that no one is ever able to find her body.
Engulfed in her own thoughts, she continued to look at the people around her. The doctor was busy instructing the nurse, while the nurse was oblivious to the rest of the world. She was in love with the doctor, Riddhima could tell from the way she looked at him. But her love would never reciprocate his feelings, since the doctor was not in love with her. Riddhima at first could feel the ache, thinking of the sufferance the young girl would be going through. But Riddhima had gone through a lot more worse. Humanly again. Nothing was close to the feeling, feeling of being with him again, the feeling which had disappeared moments ago.
Riddhima was surprised when she felt her fist trapped in warm, masculine ones. She was aware.. aware of this touch.
"How are you feeling now?" She gazed into his light blue concerned eyes. He was studying her expressions, she could tell. Meanwhile, his expressions showed both sadness and anger. His eyes were a blazing ball of fire. He was concerned at furious at the same time and happy too.
"Good." She lied.
"I should have seen this coming. This is all my fault, isn't it?" He spoke to her softly, in an evidently hurt and upset tone. His voice cracked, as he tried to word his feelings. She knew what was coming next. A long.. long.. long.. inevitable lecture.. Without a reply, she continued looking at him, hoping that ultimately it would come to an end.. but it didn't. Surprisingly, instead of a huge lecture, he directed an answer to her thought.
"You wish." He was furious. He would never forgive her. Darn, another task-to-complete before she could peacefully kill herself.
"When did you-"
"...come?" He looked into her eyes, while she remained silent, waiting for him to answer.
"I had left you messages. But obviously you were too busy elsewhere to care about your best friend." He looked away, trying to hold back his tears. He was trying not to be harsh with her. She was still in a fragile state. He did not want hurt her, unlike her.
"Armaa-" She tried to explain herself, but in vain.
"Don't. It's not going to work, Riddhima." He pushed her hand away with a jerk, and walked away. Naturally, he was upset. It was for her that he had come back; and what did she do? She went on a suicide mission!
She sighed, watching him go away. All she could do now was wait. Wait for her friends and family to arrive, wait for her anger, tears, emotions, drama. Wait for Armaan to tell everyone about her crazy acts! She was hoping for a house arrest, once Armaan had spilled the beans. And then it would all end, though not the way she had expected it to be. The sudden twist of events added on to her confusion and disappointment. She couldn't feel the one thing she wanted to feel the most-him. He would no more take her arms and calm her down. He would no more plant a sweet, romantic peck on her lips to make her smile. He would no longer make Riddhima want to live her life normally again. Why? Because he's dead. Because she killed him.
