^^ Oh wow, Hindu!! That's so cool to hear that you used to dance professionally, and that your parents were the ones encouraging you to keep it up! 😃 Never let your hobbies die!
@ Topic: Well, I do not really have an interest to learn dance, but ever since I was young I was very much into singing. My father did not really comment much on it, but my mom was never a fan of me singing. She would try to get me involved in other activities, but in school I would always choose choir as my elective. I even took voice lessons through my school for a few years, but I had to stop them once I went to college. I have always wanted to learn Indian classical music, but right now I do not have the time. Later in life I will try to learn it though.I still do sing and try to learn by ear, but it's hard. I try to remember the music theory I learned in school, so that I still have my foundation. My mom still gets irritated when I mention wanting to join voice lessons again, but I think she feels singing is just a hobby that will get me no where. In sense she's right, but people need hobbies for reducing stress. I would get very stressed in high school, but singing and learning music kept me balanced. I feel now I don't really have an outlet. Sure I sing for fun, but it's not the same as going to voice lessons and learning from a teacher or even learning songs in choir class. My mother wanted me to go into band or sports for some reason. 😆

I was actually a part of the semi-professional group so I used to perform at shows and stuff but being a fully qualified professional dancer required too much of time and energy and I simply did not have that.I don't regret it though but if you do enjoy doing something then you shouldn't forget about it completely..plus dance is great to keep you fit. Now I've become extremely lazy when it comes to exercise! Hell, I consider the walk to my bus stop my exercise for the day😆It is still a lot of fun when you get the chance to do dance shows for uni or weddings or even if it's just jumping on the dance floor at a party.😛My parents never had any problem with my rehearsals but I doubt they'd have been very keen had I told them I wish to spend the rest of my life just dancing! :\ lolOh I love singing! It sucks that I'm no good at it though😆haha yeah, my mum always used to make me join as many clubs and societies as possible but in the end nothing compares to my love for dance😊You should definitely keep at it and keep practising, even if it is just a hobby!👍🏼
