The actor-turned-host vouches that the revamped 'Deal Ya No Deal' will top this time.
Rajeev Khandelwal (Sujal of 'Kahin To Hoga' fame) is the new host of the game-show 'Deal Ya No Deal' (Sony). When asked whether hosting a show is different from acting, he responds, "Hosting is equally if not more challenging than acting. I realised this while shooting for the show."
The actor confesses that he had initially rejected the proposal, "I had first declined the offer. But when I went through the format, I decided to take a chance. Now I am enjoying it thoroughly!"
'Deal Ya No Deal' has been revamped after a not-so-successful stint with earlier hosts Madhavan and Mandira Bedi. "The producers have changed the set-up and have based it on the original US format. I am confident that it will be a success this time," says Rajeev.
He looks back fondly to his great on-screen pairing with co-star Amna Sharief in 'Kahin to Hoga', "We were one of the most popular on-screen couples. Even after a year of quitting 'Kahin To Hoga', people still refer to us as a dream pair. We shared a fantastic chemistry. Off-screen we are very good friends too." Interestingly the two are scheduled to come together in the new serial 'Hum Do Humare Nau'. "We have shot a pilot episode and it should be an interesting serial," is all that Rajeev divulges.
When quizzed about his estranged relationship with Balaji, after the alleged fallout during 'Kahin To Hoga', Rajeev states stringently, "We never had any fight. We parted ways amicably. If Balaji comes to me with an offer, I will consider it."
