My meeting with Mridang (Darshan Gandas):

I do watch BAVD but have never written anything in the forum. But I thought I would share the experience of my meeting with one of the cast of BAVD..

I have known Mridang whose real name is Darshan Gandas since his days of Choti Bahu where he used to play the role of Purab.

Here in BAVD his role is of elder brother and seems to be angry man but as Purab his role was very light and funny and flamboyant. We at Choti Bahu forum really loved his character of Purab and once in a while we would interact with him on Facebook. Here is the link to his facebook.

Darshan is very talented young man originally from Delhi. Along with working in daily shows he also does Theaters with none other than the legend Nassuriddin Shah himself. They have done these shows all over India. Recently they did in Banglore, which was super hit.

So when in Feb'11, I was my planning my trip to India I told him that I will be visiting Mumbai and would love to meet him if he could spare time. Right away he said of course didi I would be happy to meet you and even if I am busy with my shoot I will take you to the set of BAVD.

But fortunately he was available on that day and he specially came to meet us and took us to lunch in near by restaurant. I had wonderful time with him and came to know him personally. He is extremely nice and polite and very very friendly and down to earth young man.. He does not frown at all but laughs heartily. His Urdu is really good and it is a privilege to hear him speak pure urdu on the stage with Nassuriddin Shah.

i personally like mridang & the actor who potrays the character. i didn't know about his previous role as i've never watched CB. thanx for telling about his character of purab...sounds interesting😛

i had watched a video on youtube which was on the sets of BAVD where bharti & mridala were interviewed for a short period. darshan sounded so much of fun. i was higly impressed with the way he talked so funnily to gau & bharti & he sounds even more fun by your post
