I am tired of seeing ASh in operiodic movies ..now I would like to see soemone diffrerent.
My choices for this role would be:
1 Anushka Sharma
2 Deepika Padukone
3 Sonam Kapoor

did anyone watch Kheley Hum Ji Jaan Se, a period movie adapted from a novel?😕

In the end when she is asked if she can remain as a mere daughter-in-law, an obedient wife, and a simple home maker, she replies, "Yes, I can. That's where a woman truly finds her fulfilment. This is a station that is more difficult than being a queen or an ascetic."
Well! this was in 1884. The sad part is that even today not much has changed.
BTW did you read Giada's (Italian-American chef/writer) controversial statement last month?
She said, "All men want to be treated like kings in a relationship, and I think if women don't indulge that sometimes, their men are likely to stray and look for someone who can give that to them."

OMG we agreed on something...😆😉
I feel that young actresses should be given chance to explore thier acting talents rather than going back and forth to the same actresses.
It reminds me of the time when Commerical fils and Art films were two entirely different genre. Art films were rules by Shabana Azmi & Smita PAtil where as commerical by Hema Malini, Rekha, Zeenat& Parveen etc.
So all the meaty roles went ot tehm and when Rekha did a Umrao Jaan with little serious role she was hailed as serious actor.
Bebo had done Chameli in a young age. And she did a great job.

Yes Lovanika.. i am bored of seeing all the young actresses.. doing predictable and next to nothing roles.. and none of the directors are pushing these girls into giving good performances.. like how SLB extracted a good performance out of Ash in HDDS... Kareena in chameli.. Sri devi in sadma... now the 20 some actresses have been reduced to just being eye candies.. they aren't giving any power packed performances..

I agree with you guys. It's about time challenging roles are given to these young actress like Anuska, Sonam, and Deepika. I think Sonam can pull it off...she has that classy look to her.

It's weird how these directors only give challenging roles to only mature actress like aish, pc, and bebo. I understand that they are the more experienced actresses...but give others a chance too!

If not Sonam, I think more than Rani..Aish will be a perfect match for these kind of roles.

👍🏼 I know the Ritupharno/Aish combo will work wonders again after Chokher Bali and Raincoat. Aish is brilliant in Ghosh's films!

I'm so happy b/c periodic films are like the only films Aishu is completely natural! I'm super excited b/c I loved Raincoat and Chokher Bali and so this is gonna be a dream project! I'm still surprised Choker Bali is so highly underrated, but that's a debate for Another day!

I think if there was a 2nd choice for the film it could only be Vidya...not Rani and none of the young gals...I don't think Anushka can do anything as great as she does with rom coms...she's so real and natural in romantic comedies! Deepika is a big no! Rani could be good but I find her acting a bit redundant (just my opinion...no need to jump me)!

As for Aishu doing rom coms...I hope Ladies and Gentlemen is not a disappointment...as much as Abhi is freakin' awesome in comedy...that chemistry is just...ewwws! Hopefully she can prove everyone wrong with this one...fingers crossed at this point!
