With eliminations happening over the past 8 weeks, we currently have 5 jodis pitted against each other in the quest for the coveted 'Sunehri Taqdeer ki Topi', the most definitive accolade in the world of dance.
The 5 jodis in the reckoning include Amit-Falon and Saurabh-Vivek from Master Marzi Pestonji's team - Marzi Ke Mastaane,Cornell-Sonali from Master Geeta Kapur's team - Geeta Ki Gang and Karan-Carling and Vikram-Niharika from Master Rajeev Surti's team- Rajeev Ke Rockers.
Speaking of the jodis, Grand Master Mithun Da said, "At this stage, everybody is a winner! It takes lot of hard work, determination and perseverance to reach this stage and from now on, it will just be a battle of nerves. May the best couple win!"
Hailing from Mumbai, Amit and Falon are the "Grand Salute" specialists from Master Marzi Pestonji's team. Practically each and every performance of theirs on this prestigious dance platform has managed to evoke the highest honor of a 'Grand Salute' from Mithun Da. With all-round praise, performances that draw requests for an encore, Amit & Falon are being touted as extremely hot contenders for the Top 4! Their most memorable performances include 'Tadap Tadap Ke', Kaante nahi chubhte ye din ye raat and Roshni Se Hare Bhare. Amit and Falon's amazing journey from being background dancers to being touted as the hottest dancing couple of the country is a legend in itself.
Karan and Carling of Delhi are beautiful contemporary dancers from Rajeev Ke Rockers. Having trained under international choreographer Mia Micheals, Karan's command over Latin American dance forms such as Ballet & Ballroom is unmatched. With their superlative talent and mind-blowing acts, Rajeev counts them as his trump cards! The jodi stunned everybody on the sets with their versatility by stepping out of their comfort zone and performing to Tamma Tamma Loge and their stellar "Bird Act" on Tujhe dekh dekh sona has been memorable. Karan's extensions are something to lookout for!
Cornell from Mangalore and Sonali from Kolkata are versatile, multi-faceted dancers from Geeta Ma's team who were brought together by none other than Grand Master Mithun Da when he noticed them to be exceptionally better than their own original partners. So Dada has a soft corner for this jodi since he brought them together! With their superlative talent and mind-blowing acts, Geeta has huge hopes out of them! Their mirror act, their performance to Zubi Zubi and their sensuous Bachata act were highlights of the season.
Vivek and Saurabh from Kolkata are affectionately called "Changu Mangu" by their mentor Master Marzi Pestonji. The two thin, wiry boys have wowed the audience with their brilliant comic timing and flawless synchronization. Having been nominated for the 'Dance Ki Kasauti' challenge whereby they face the risk of being eliminated in every single episode, the duo has fought back with vigor and managed to successfully survive in the show. Saurabh and Vivek have proved their mettle in every form of dance - bhangra, hip-hop, contemporary, classical and rightfully earned their place in the finale.
Pune boy Vikram and Jaipur's Niharika who wowed everyone with a spectacular puppet act earlier in the season but got eliminated unfortunately have managed a fabulous comeback into Master Rajeev Surti's team as wild card entries. The duo took their elimination as a challenge and came back with a bang improving their performance with every passing week. Vikram and Niharika's puppet dance has been one of the best acts of the season along with their folk dances and acts involving complicated props, most memorable being the air ball prop.
