Truth or dare: Akshay, Sonam and Bobby put to the test

tabloid! quizzes the Thank You stars ' Sonam, Akshay and Bobby ' about matters of the heart...infidelity, toxic relationships and dream-cheats

  • Deol, Kapoor and Kumar in Thank You.

Cheat on Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and you will be castrated, but do the same to action hero Akshay Kumar and you may be let off the hook. But how do we know such intimate details?

tabloid! indulged in a tricky relationship quiz when the trio starring in Thank You ' a comedy featuring Kumar, Bobby Deol and Kapoor in lead roles ' landed in Dubai to peddle their latest release, out this weekend.

The wrath of a spurned Sonam (a very violent one at that) is just one of the many revelations. During the course of our relationship quiz ranging from infidelity to dream-cheating, the team let us in on their deepest, darkest relationship secrets.

So, as a tribute to Thank You ' a tale about philandering husbands and their hapless wives ' we give your their personal take on relationships.

Have you ever been cheated upon in real life?

Sonam Kapoor: No, nobody has ever cheated on me. Nobody has ever dared to ' because they know I will chop their little, little things off. [laughing to take the bite off her rather graphic threat]. Yes, I will castrate him for sure.

Bobby Deol: Yes, I have been cheated upon and I have gone through many break-ups in my life. Being cheated upon is a part of growing up. It's a part of understanding how life is. Love is never hunky-dory. There are always ups and downs. I am very lucky that I went through all of that before marriage.

Akshay Kumar: Never. Not in my real life, but in reel life I have been cheated upon many times.

What constitutes infidelity in your reality?

SK: Physically and emotionally cheating on someone other than your wife constitutes infidelity. Even if you are flirting with someone or having a good time with them, it amounts to infidelity.

BD: Every human being has an evil side to them and there's a part of our brain which thinks negative and has this urge to enjoy life. The key is to understand that part and get over it. If you can control that instinct, then you can lead a perfect life. It's all about focus.

AK: I am with Sonam on this one.

If your friend was in a toxic relationship, what advice would you give them?

SK: Go to the police in case there's physical abuse. With regard to being in a toxic relationship, I had a friend who was in one and it had reached a point where she didn't know what was going on. We knew she needed an intervention from people who cared about her like her parents or her close friends. Often, they are the only ones who can jerk you out of that toxic space by asking: 'what are you doing with your life?' Sometimes you need a person from outside telling you that you are worth far more than what he or she is giving you.

BD: A guy who hits a woman should definitely be castrated and a guy who doesn't understand the meaning of relationships should be flushed out. Having said that, you need to understand that everybody is not perfect and each one has their own flaws. So if we can look beyond the flaws, then you enjoy a good relationship.

AK: To forgive someone is a divine thing. Sometimes a man can make a mistake and if you are willing to give him another chance, then go for it. There's nothing wrong in forgiving a man. If she feels she can do it ' I would tell her to forgive him and make the whole relationship work. In fact, such an episode may even improve a man from within.

If you were to dream-cheat, with whom would you cheat?

SK: I need to be married to really dream-cheat. But yes, if I were to dream-cheat I will cheat with Bobby and Akshay ' together. [That's cheating within cheating, interjects Kumar, but Kapoor retorts: if you are dreaming, you may as well go the whole length].

BD: I am blessed to have found a wonderful wife in Tanya. So this is a tough one since there are so many beautiful people out there. But without naming names, I would dream-cheat with a lady who has a good personality and an innate simplicity.

AK: Madhubala ' she was one of the most beautiful women out there with that girl-next door appeal.

Which celebrity cheating episode shocked you the most?

SK: Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. Their split was a shocker because they had this wholesome, all-American golden couple going on between them. And, Pitt going for a younger, hotter Angelina Jolie was reiterating that in life men go for the younger and hotter woman all the time. Also, the news of the Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman break-up shocked me because you just assume that after 15 years of togetherness, they will never break up.

BD: What shocks me is the way the media deals with such news of cheating etc. The way they speculate on other people's personal lives and the way they dig up everything is the shocking bit for me.

AK: The news about Kobe Bryant [American professional basketball player who allegedly sexually assaulted a hotel employee] shook me. In fact, my film Aitraaz was based on that episode. The idea for the film sprang from there.

That is what Twinkle ultimately did when he was with Priyanka.

What if a woman cheats?? Would he have the courage to forgive his wife.. if she openly has an affair with someone..

I don't know LadyGaga. Men often even think lowly of women that are divorced or widowed. Those women are just used objects, or used piece of meat as some put it. 🤢 (Murder happens in my heart when I hear such statements)

Personally speaking, I'd castrate a man too if he was to cheat on me....physically or emotionally that is (don't think I can trust him). And to answer you, I don't think Akshay would have forgiven his wife had she been sleeping with a man around. It would hurt his larger than life ego. In this case, I can clearly sense that Twinkle was able to move on with him due to 1) their child 2) financial/emotional security. It doesn't just happen with star wives....it happens even with us commoners. It's easier for a man to move on post a divorce, but for women things never come easily.....It stuns me because a man can be promiscuous and go thru a divorce but still later find a trophy wife, however a woman who chooses to walk out on a man because of whatever reasons, she's not given the same treatment.

I read this as Akshay, Sonam and Bobby put to Rest.
What is it with Sonam finding every male's crown jewels as little or unimpressive - First in KWK and now here. Hmmm.. I have a theory but I don't want to get banned.
AK and BD:- I love how they immediately jumped to the conclusion that in a toxic relationship the man is the one always who has the latitude to be wrong. Women cannot cheat or are they not expected to? Talk about being chauvinistic. And to top it off by saying, To forgive someone is a divine thing. Of course it is. 😉

I have seen in bollywood.. usually cheating men are glorified in movies.. like in all akki movies.. like garam masala, thank you.. etc.. but women who cheat or are like gold diggers.. its never shown in movies.. and even if it is shown its never glorfied.. or sugar coated in terms of comedy or sarcasm.. like in holly.. movies like "intolerable cruely"... catherine's character is shown as this glorified gold digger.. who hearlessly marries rich men and then dumps them.. and goes on to another one.. i can't recall anything like this shown in bolly.

havent seen 7 khoon maaf...but just wondering if the idea of a woman marrying again and again was hard to swallow for the audience? imagine if it were an Akki movie...a comedy...where he murders 6 wives along the way in search of a perfect one....would that be a hit?...just wondering😕
