A Trip Down Memory Lane.....

fast seems to be catching up as a favorite among young people, who are looking at their past with great longing

Soumitra Das

Remember the classic song from yesteryears,Koi Lauta De Mere Beete Hue Din Well,if you were to sit with a group of young professionals today, you would certainly be reminded of it more than once! Gone are the days when getting nostalgic was something that was associated with the elderly people, who would fondly recollect what happened years ago.Today, even those in their 20s and 30s are seen recalling their school/college days often, and thinking of those as the best ones of their lives. Why do the young tend to feel as if they have already lived the best moments of their lives
VJ and actor Cyrus Sahukar says,It is true that young people start feeling nostalgic these days very early, and its completely understandable. Thanks to the crazy pace of life in todays world, theres not much time to do things that you ideally want to do.That is why it is important to stay relaxed and enjoy your college days as much as you can. For,as they say, those are really golden days and are never going to come back again! Once student days are over, getting completely tied up thanks to the long hours at the workplaces is unavoidable. And if that is not the case, you are busy looking for work anyway!
Actor Manav Gohil, though, has a slightly different take.I think a person looks at his past and gets nostalgic only if he feels overburdened by his present. If one is passionate about what s/he is doing today, there shouldnt be a case of feeling sad while comparing ones present with the past.In my case,I remember my struggle days from the past more than days like fabulous birthdays or parties, and really cherish them, because those moments made me the person that I am today. While I consider my past as beautiful,I feel every day is a new challenge and focus on creating a fabulous future, while enjoying my present, he shares.
Come what may,one thing is for certain. The joys that student life offers are unmatchable. As Sunilraj Singh,a marketing professional, puts it,When I had joined college,it felt wonderful to have so much of freedom and it was fun to hang out with friends at the campus and outside. At the same time,we couldnt wait for college to get over,so that we could have our dream jobs and start earning. Now that I am working,it feels good to be doing well professionally and enjoying my work but looking back,it feels even school days were more fun in comparison! It is sad to be living in the same city and not being able to meet up with friends on a regular basis, but I have got used to it by now.
Taking a holistic view, social scientist Akash Acharya says,In the earlier days, everything was more structured. One would complete studies, get a government job in most cases, and work for years in the same organisation before retiring.Things have changed very fast and thanks to globalisation and fast pace of life, even those in their 20s and 30s are feeling the pressure of things like the global job scenario, high targets and so on.There is a lot more stress on young people today and so,they are bound to look back at their student days and feel good.People feel nostalgic about the past when they are not satisfied with the current state their lives are in.
Well, the next time you feel a little low, probably its time to have coffee with old pals and discuss about your college crush, what say

Chillax moments spent with friends are cherished for a lifetime

I REMEMBER MY STRUGGLE DAYS FROM THE PAST MORE THAN DAYS LIKE FABULOUS PARTIES,AND REALLY CHERISH THEM,BECAUSE THOSE MOMENTS MADE ME WHAT I AM TODAY
