NAINA KHANNA- An analysis.

Here's a serious and objective analysis of Naina Khanna-

To put it in two simple words, Naina Khanna is a "go-getter". She is truly a pragmatist who gets whatever she sets her eyes on...no scruples and no conscience pangs.She has just one goal in life...to win and she is willing to pay any price for that.

Naina is ruled by head and driven by power, money and fame...achieving, aiming higher and higher and pursuing success are an obsession with her.As she had said once,"Naina Khanna never stops".

She is emotionally and sentimentally handicapped because she lives on logic and weighs everything in terms of profit and loss.She knows that if you have to rule people, you need to control them as well..and that's why she keeps her family right under her thumb.

Naina is truly a "Material girl".....who is addicted to success and obsessed with that sense of power and control which she enjoys over people.Family, relationships, emotions...are great if they can earn something for her, pay rich dividends.Emotions are a fool's paradise in her dictionary.

Naina is not a woman of heart..she is a woman of head and ambition.

The actress who essays this role has done and is doing a commendable job even though we all detest the character.She brings out the arrogance and cold-heartedness of Naina perfectly.Quite contrary to popular belief, the actress has got beautiful black lustrous hair and very fine porcelain complexion if not good skin!

Well said Nits. I was wondering though, weren't Dilip n Naina middle class people before they came to mumbai?

They were middle-class but it's Naina's ambition n brain which have turned them into "The Khannas."

naina may be a go-getter Nitoo didi, but she is also one of the new breed of parents who want to fulfill all their ambitions through their off-spring, pushing and pushing them till they break. if there is one person that naina does love, it is angad, but she loves the angad of her imagination, the perfect robot beta, and does not recognise the emotional, vulnerable, slightly unstable and volatile young man who crraves genuine love for himself, angad the man, not angad the rock star, and is someone not very clear about what he really wants in life and from life...he imagines having fame will make him happy because his mother has told him it will and should make him happy. even though naina does not encourage angad's emotional side to mature, but stokes his ambition, she knows her son inside out and is a far-sighted woman...she knew before anyonoe what effect kripa could have on angad. naina's life is a tragedy and she will make her son's life one, because she pays more interest to material things like money and fame rather than things that actually fulfill a human and makes life a success..love affection and trust.

and i agree with you that the lady portraying naina is doing a wonderful job...as evidenced by our whole hearted disapproval and hatred of her!!😉

Hmmm...I have a strict aversion for mothers who sacrifice the concept of making a true 'family' in search of power and ambition. Look at Damini, successful business woman, but a more successful mother and friend to her children. No wonder, her children are sane, cultured, caring and sensitive.

Angad has been saved a little by , as Naina says, 'the influence of his grandmother'. Thank heavens she was around, otherwise he would have been another Kartik the slimeball. As it is, it will be a long while before Angad actually discovers himself, thanks to the overbearing presence of his overbearing mom. Less said abt Dilip, the better; ineffectual dad, husband, friend, son..etc..etc.
