That's my point....it doesn't matter if it's Malaika or Aishu....they shouldn't be called out on it b/c they're MARRIED!!!

I'm sorry, but just b/c she chooses to wear saris most of the time doesn't make her a "sati savitri" and she isn't the one that goes around telling the world "I'm An Ideal Bahu"....that's what the media kept saying post-marriage!

Once again, it shouldn't matter if you're a good daughter-in-law and opt to wear short dresses...I don't see the correlation between being a good bahu and wearing whatever you want....why should clothing define a woman?!

I don't see the same sort of criticism when married men put on tight jeans, super short shorts, or seduce younger women on film, commercials, or photoshoots...so does that mean a "respectable" married woman has to cover herself up and that's the only why she remains "respectable"?!

BTW: I'm just addressing these points b/c it makes for good conversation...and these are the things we should be talking about, so please don't think I'm bashing anyone or anything...it's just for discussion!

G! My point isn't calling out other actresses....it's that it really doesn't matter! There shouldn't different standards for men and women and between single women and married women! It doesn't matter is Malaika exposes more...that's not the right kind of attitude to have....it shouldn't matter what a woman wears...she shouldn't be solely judged on that!

...How does dressing up in low v-neck dresses make her any less respectable or proper than anyone else? What, is how much skin one is comfortable displaying a marker for respectability nowadays?🤢

Seriously, it is the kind of mentality - that wearing deep-necked tops somehow makes you less respectable than someone who dresses more conservatively - that is part of victim-blaming and to an extent, participates in rape culture.

OMG! I hate this so much! I recently read a memoir of a rape victim (Alice Sebold's Lucky)...and ppl's mentality has shocked me...even the thoughts of the Indian youth on MTV India shocked me...on MTV Roadies they asked if a girl gets harassed for wearing short skirts/dresses...is it ok...and the guys are like yeah...they shouldn't be enticing guys in the first place...well hello GUYS....stop being enticed...a girl has the right to wear whatever she wants w/out being harassed/molested/rape....such disgusting mentality of some ppl!
