My journey has been tough as I have taken care of my family all these years. I live for my mom and sisters. They are my life. I would do anything for them. My focus was to work, provide for my family and support them post my marriage too. It was tough to find the right guy who would understand my way of thinking, where I come from and what I want in a marriage. I am glad to have got all of that in Bhaskar. He is a huge support. I was looking for a guy who would agree to my conditions and Bhaskar has proved himself every time.
What do you like most about Bhaskar?
First and foremost, the quality I appreciate in him is that I think he understands my feelings for my family. He respects my conditions and then agreed to marry me, which I feel is a huge deal for a guy. That is the most endearing quality.
What are your thoughts about your upcoming wedding ?
I am nervous as any girl would be. At the same time I am also going through a whole gamut of emotions. There is also some stress regarding the marriage fund and I am also worried about my family and thinking how will they manage after I leave home, at the same time I am also looking forward to entering into a new relationship, new family- so I have mixed feelings.
Do you have pre wedding jitters?
Yes I am as any girl would.
What for you is the most exciting part about weddings?
Weddings are a grand occasion to meet your relatives who come from various places. It is like a mela where other than the wedding, the festivities, meeting and chatting with people is the exciting part. I love to meet cousins and friends and celebrate the haldi, mehendi, sangeet and various rituals along with the song and dance in Indian weddings. In our stressful everyday lives, we miss the fun and frolic, so weddings are a good way to have fun and relax.
Which Maharastrian ritual do you love the most and why?
Maharastrian weddings are a simple affair and I find that really appealing.
What did you think your dream wedding would be like?
A simple wedding with my family. A stress free celebration with the family's blessings.
Are your wishes and desires being fulfilled in this wedding?
To a certain extent, yes I am happy with the way my wedding preparations have turned out. But I am really worried about the funds and payments to be done. I am also concerned about my family and their well being post my wedding.
Are you missing your father?
The memories I have of my father are very few. He left us when we were little and we have seen Aai struggle and run the house. As a daughter, I do miss him but otherwise not really. I am closer to my Aai.
Which would be your dream honeymoon destination and why?
Any place which is quiet, green and romantic.
What are you expecting from this marriage?
A little support from my would-be husband and my in-laws. They have agreed to my conditions which is great but I am also nervous about it. I hope they support me in the future too.
In case your in laws raise objections to your conditions post marriage, how do you plan to handle the situation?
God forbid if that happens, it will be tough. But as I am a fighter, I won't give up and try to find a solution. I will explain my situation to them and try to win their trust with patience. I will always find a way to help my family.
