As Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi gears up for its new generation leap, Amit Sareen who plays the role of Saahil has decided to quit the show.
His decision was conveyed to his producers a few days back, and Balaji has accepted his resignation from the show.
A few days back there was buzz that Sareen may take a call and decide against continuing on the show. However nothing was finalized until he got a go ahead signal from the production house.
Saahil no more
Confirming the news, Amit said, "Yes I wont be a part of Kyunki anymore. The parting was very amicable and I am thankful to Balaji for understanding my position. We still have to work out the finer details as to when my last date of shoot would be."
What prompted him to leave a show that's geared up for such a big leap ? "I have some other things planned in mind — particularly films. I thought I wont be able to devote enough time to Kyunki and my film at the same time. I had no issues about my character or its standing after the leap."
Sareen adds that some of his friends advised him to prolong his decision and leave the show at the last moment.
"There were people who told me why do you care so much about the show ? Just walk out when the leap happens. But I didn't want to do anything of this sort. We have had similar examples in the past and I didn't want to be one of them. I am glad I cleared my position with Balaji giving them enough time to get in the new guy."
Is the actor insecure about his future and what lies ahead? "I have always believed in taking risks. What's the fun in living a well-secured life where everything is predictable. I will have to work extra hard now."
Sources indicate than Sandeep Baswana who played the role of Saahil initially will be seen as the character once again.
