while i agree that the pace was too fast, and they really did not clarify anything, but I guess abhay was given bail not just because of piya's statement but because the police officer got the news of shanaya's murder when he was interrogating college students and abhay was behind the bars at that time, so obviously he could not be responsible for the third murder and that gave police the doubt that probably abhay is indeed innocent.
