Kareena for Women's Rights (Safety tips Video)

Very proud of bebo for doing this. This is an important issue in India I learned from that woman who was called Shelia ki jawani and a guy ended up dying because of it! It seems like bebo was influenced by Bips incident too...that's what the other article said.

Good job Kareena. If a women gets raped, its her fault. If she gets sexually assaulted, its her fault. If there are earthquakes, then it's a woman's fault as well (really, that what the Iranian President said). We need to stop living up to the whole "perfect bharatiya naari" image and just be who we are without having to apologize for it.

Is that how it is in india too...that if a women is raped she gets blamed?

Yup Lensa, its still like that in India and over the world. So much stigma around rape and sexual assault. But you'd think it was different here but unfortunately, even after we have progressed so much, so many people dont.

For instance, a cop in Toronto just said this "if you dont wanna get sexually assaulted, dont dress like a s**t" 🤢 We are all wearing t-shirts that have 'S-L-U-T" written on them in a big bold font and walk around all the toronto police stations to protest his statement. This came from an educated white guy who is of one of the highest ranks in the police force so you can imagine what thinking people have in this world.

Oh wow, does he think all the women who gets raped is because they dress like a s**t? Even women who live in Muslim countries who are covered get raped. He really needs to check his mind. And even if a girl dresses up like a s**t, doesn't give the man a right to rape her and it doesn't mean she is asking to be rapped. That's a sick way to think about the issue!

I can totally relate what bebo said. More than me, the people who worry about my safety is my parents. If am outside the house after dark, they worry like crazy.

And those are great advice that bebo gave. Telling girls not to wear certain clothes will just make them even want to wear it more. Like she said having a cell phone with you and being alert is good. I try to have my cellphone with me everytime I leave the house. It's crazy at the university I go too. I won't reveal which university it's in USA though...women get harrassed every other day on campus. And it's usually done during the night time at my university though...don't know the situation in India.

Oh wow, didn't know bebo didn't have a bodyguard. 😲 And is the bodyguard she was talking of an actress...wasn't that PC?
