So very well said!!! That's my exact point... I mean I don't even think I want to go as far as saying Geet has changed, all I want to say is that, NOTHING maan did was different from what he has done before... why use such extreme words??? He was def. wrong in saying mar jaane diya hota... and you are right, she could have slapped him for that!!! I would for once not mind that at all :) but these words just pierced my heart... were so unexpected, and not warranted in this situation... if she wanted to use them, they could have shown him doing something hatke from his personality... which he hasn't done in this case...
Change is not necessarily a bad thing..don't you feel she has changed from the Geet who lashed out at Maan, the love of her life, when she mistakenly believed him to be supporting Dev's bail..at that point, her fight for justice mattered more to her than her love...a love that had saved from sure death umpteen times and that had stood with her at every point..a love that stood up in front of the world and proclaimed himself to be the father of her unborn child even while that was not a biological truth..a love that had gone against his family and presented himself as a witness in the case against his brother....today however, Geet is at a point in life where Maan and his family matter more to her than her dignity or justice..that is surely change..whereas Maan has not changed at all..he still believes in his ideals and nothing can above them for him..and Geet is the personification of his ideals, all that he stands up for..for him, it has always been about her..also some people are talking about Maan's ego..even in the initial days, he has always been quick to apologize when he has been wrong..dramatic though that sequence was, kneeling down at a woman's feet in a public place, with thousands of people milling around, is not exactly a sign of male ego...I believe in the equality of women and the need for empowerment of women as much as any feminist but I would rather call myself a humanist..!
