Pratigya Forum Members,

It has come to the Dev. teams attention that there has been a lot of bashing going on around the forum. Members are bashing eachother (making personal attacks on eachother) and also bashing characters of the show and actors who portray these roles too. It has come to our notice that both forms of bashing has been used indirect and direct. Another thing that has been happening this few days is Bashing other actors from other shows which is strictly agianst the rules.

I would like to remind all members the following few rules:

No form of bashing is allowed, be it direct bashing or indirect bashing. Bashing an character, actor, the show or a forum member will not be accepted in any case and sever action will be taken.
Creating MIDs to bash is not allowed either - we have noticed some members have created MIDs to bash other members of the forum and/or actors.

Also another issuse that is happening is SIMILAR TOPICS

It has been seen that a lot of similar topics are being opened. Its a request to all the members to please go thru the topics already posted and if there is a similar topic already open to please join in the discussions there instead of opening a new topic on the same or similar issue.

It does not mean that the topic has to be exactly what you were going to write, but if its similar then you can always add your points in there as well.

This is a sincere request to all members. Please DO NOT open multiple topics on the same or similar content. This is in no way meant to discourage members from posting topics, but its a request with the view to be fair to all posters and all topics. Cause if all similar topics come to page 1 then other topics which are equally interesting and important and of varied nature go to page 2 and receive less views and replies and sometimes totally ignored.

Similar topics do not mean it has to be exactly what you are going to write, similar means based on the same content. If you have another point to make on the subject you can easily do it in that same post. At this point i feel it is better that the members decide themselves what is similar and what is not as i am sure it will not be liked if the Dev. Team starts to decide that or takes some other strict action and neither will Dev. Team like doing or taking such measures, but if this continues we will have no other option but to take some action to maintain the proper working of the forum.

You can also refer to the
Pratigya Forum Rules and Regulations. Do keep these rules in mind and take this warning thread seriously as if in any form members have broken the rules and continued to bash be it a member or actor then the consequences could be a 20% raise in Warning Level or even a Ban.

If anyone has any kind of questions or concerns regarding this feel free to PM either minu (minuu) or Roshni (lilindiangurl13).

Hello Moderators,

Thanks for acknowledging my request. As I have mentioned in my letter that people here unneccessarily bash the main character Pratigya and call her names like ( Hypocrite, masterni,behoodi- I do not even know what that means, pratster etc). They criticize her in every single action of hers. And in return if I criticize Krishna ,they group against me and start bashing me. This was going on for a while and I was trying to deal with it myself .But it has been out of line for the last few weeks.

I have even mentioned to one of the members that there need to be a balance in the forum. As you know this is a homogeneous forum with 99% Krishna supporters. And things were OK for a while,but eventually it did not work.

I come here in the forum to mainly talk about social issues and woman rights. I am not here to please anyone with my comments and visa versa. But there are members ( I did mention their names to you) who have been unneccesarily after me just because I am in their words bashing their Krishna. And its all fine when they bash Pratigya who is for the right cause. No one likes to be bullied and pushed around.

I really appreciate the fact that you took my complain seriously .

I want to ask the moderators what way is there to control members who click REPORT button out of sheer spite to get topics closed down like MIne was closed down suddenly when a healthy discussion was going on . . How can such members be controlled and given a warning . . What does the term 'BASHING OF CHARACTER" mean . Is the character a real person that offense is taken for merely stating that the character is acting hypocritical ? Suppose we watch the show and find the educated Saxenas giving speeches to others and not punishing own daughter for doing blatant bigamy and the heroine Pratigya helps her to escape we should not say she is a hypocrite but PRAISE her ? Why ? . Wht is this strange JABARDASTI in this forum of a certain group that Pratigya should ONLY be praised and never critiqued ? Who decides this ? That the critique of the lead heroine is BASHING ? . Healthy critiquing can be done keeping ALL IF rules in mind . I want to know the answer to my question ............Why should Pratigya only be praised ? Why cannot this show be seen from different viewpoints ? . What is wrong with the word 'HYPOCRITE" ? It is not a bad word , it is not a gaali , it simply describes a double standard quality . If the heroine punishes certain people and forgives her own family when they do crimes what should we call her .......A goddess ? . Why ? Cannot we have freedom of thought ? . I have a pretty good idea who has reported my post . I never do such underhanded tactics so I am asking this question OPENLY to the mods . How can we discuss Show with so many restrictions ? . This means we have only ONE option left . 1] Only Praise Pratigya

3] or press report button of these trouble makers to get THEIR posts shut down too . Since Moderators r busy people they will without reading follow rules and shut it down .

So what should we do is my query .

I am urging mods on behalf of all members like me who critique this show since we love it from a different view point than just Pratigya glorification ............to tell us a way of battling these trouble mongers who are using Report button out of SHEER SPITE simply coz their opinion is CONTRARY .

This is most UNFAIR and I want to know the remedy please .

If characters cannot be discussed , Show cannot be too , its THAT simple . All that remains is saying THE SHOW WAS GOOD . Or THE SHOW WAS BAD .

A forum needs to have debate and contary opinions presented keeping IF rules in Mind . Today PRATIGYA has LOST awards coz this show was never critiqued properly and CVS never got good feedback from their marketing forums .They never realised that Pratigya's speeches have become monotonous and The Saxenas have lost credibility .

I'll make it short and sweet

I may not agree with everyones' opinions all the time but I am adult enough to respect their views. We should be able to discuss characters without any problems .................

This is a little reminiscent of 1984!

My only objection is to people who come on and verbally abuse forum members.

Forgot to add something😆😆😆 If you don't agree with someone ..................just don't press the like button................one way to show disapproval

Direct bashing was going on .. where members were accused for liking the main lead .. just coz he is male.

If a character cannot be disected and discussed after an epi.. what is the point of having a forum.. I thought just like the english forums .. a soap forum is like a book club.

IF points are made about a certain character ... why does it necessarily mean you critisise the characters partner character. Or a character liked by all, mutalated unnecessarily when not at fault.

if you want to disect and talk about a character.. do it with back up and no point discussing again and again what that character did a year ago... move on with time.

if you find one members post offensive - do not generalise it onto all the members.

i love the character of baba... when he is naughtee... i discuss him aswell.... so it's normal to discuss your fav's and none fav's. reel life it is.

We all are mature individuals and have a right to express our opinions. Its an open forum where we are analysing different aspects of the drama and if we are expressing our POV without using any abusive language it should taken as a healthy discussion by every one. At the end of the day not everyone can be expected to agree with your POV so one can't just report a thread as character bashin if the contents of the thread are not not intune with your ideas and opinions and get the thread closed. This will curb any form of healthy discussion and eventually people will be just leave the forum.

Agree that a critical feedback is must as it motivates most of us to do better. I am reading why didn't Pratigya and Krishna win the best jodi award. Honesty i haven't seen the drama for more than two months i just read the updates but what i remember I don't see them as the best jodi infact in my opinion they are the worst jodi. In my opinion the jodi lacks a major ingredient that is mutual respect. The cvs need to be made aware of the flaws else they will keep loosing more and more of the important awards.

Yes ..A show will induce both praise and critiques and since a show is made up of characters ..the characters will come in for their share of some hard hitting comments...The Mods by saying that one should not speak about such things are actually impinging on our right to speak out..A critique should be allowed as long as the talk is on about the characters and their action's .. and does not involve the actor or their personal lifes..You have said Bashing not allowed Mods .. forgive me I do not understand this term "BASHING" ..So I looked it up ..

what is bashing ??

Literally, bashing is a term meaning to hit or assault, but when it is used as a suffix, or in conjunction with a noun indicating the subject being attacked, it is normally used to imply that the act is motivated by bigotry.The term is also used metaphorically, to describe verbal or critical assaults. Topics which attract bashing tend to be highly partisan and personally sensitive topics for the bashers, the victims or both.

Sometimes this label is applied to criticisms that are not particularly vehement nor even inappropriate. In these cases, the term can be seen to be applied purely for partisan benefit.

After reading through, I felt that the latter para holds good in this circumstance ..the term bashing is strictly used for partisan benefit esp when the criticism is valid or is not out of context ..

what the Mods can do is read the post , seek the views of the poster, understand the context in which it is written ..in other words give the benefit of doubt to the poster instead of holding him/her guilty and blocking the posts/threads ..

I am not saying to allow all posts ..you are at perfect liberty to rap on the knuckles ,those posters who use intemperate language or BASH an actor and their personal lifes...but even this should be done , giving the reason for shutting it down ..

A show needs both praise and criticism for it maintain its standard ..if we were only to praise , then the show will cease to develop ..A healthy,appropriate critique keeps the show on an even keel and will act as the barometer for the creatives who may hop in to gauge our views .

BOTTOM LINE, MODS : A show needs healthy criticism for it evolve and a forum needs freedom of thought and the liberty to post these thoughts to keep it vibrant and ticking ... Curtail this and the forum dies..and I am sure that is not ur intention..

i second kools here.. lately the word "bashing" has been overrated especially in this forum....any posts , giving unbiased frank opinions is being called "bashing" the character.... where as most of the members are long time IF users and know the rules and regulations and are not at all using abusive or insulting words to explain their point...

i also wish to point out to mods that, certain members are flaunting their hold on english langauage and asking people to stay out of their threads just because the poster used a bad adjective!

to me this is bashing.. and more serious then taking offence for a fictional character.
