Why do the remake of every south Indian soap set with Maharashtrian background? First Pavitra Rishta now Dor. Not that i dislike this, but why? They could hav shown the family as hindi speaking south family itself. Its a risk, but still i'm sure, change would have been appreciated. We already hav lots of show with Maharashtrian culture.

I think it wud have been a little difficult to show a Rajasthani middle class family's daugter so independent and supporting her family financially... this is more a story of a city girl... like mumbai or pune... more of a southern India setup... since they may not have wanted southIndian setup... they seem to have opted for a Maharashtrian set up...

Well.... Most of the Maharashtrians are independent and confident specially in case of girls being so free... Other cultures in India which i have come across... Impose too many restrictions or encourage them not to work but sit home and eat husband's money... and this type of shows suit their title... and since Mumbai is the city where u can fins such people...
and its shown nicely for every culture...
Village based scene- Rajasthani (Gulal, Bhagowali, etc.)
Maan Maryada Based- Bengali (Kasauti, Kahanii)
Independent and confident- Mumbaikars (Pavitra Rishta, Laagi Tujhse)
Comedy- Gujjus....(Taarak Mehta, Khichdi, etc.) But this is most confusing part.... gujjus are everywhere... saas bahu- kyunki, saathiya, humari devrani, etc.
But all shows have some special trend......
