Why copy American concepts?

Don't get me wrong the concept of this show is really great!  But it made me wonder why is it that  a lot of Indian entertainment, movies especially, are copies of American films and television shows? 

I agree and disagree well I know what u mean there r alot Hindi movies/shows copied buy it not only hindi movies that r copied.... I mean there r few American movies I know that r copied from different Country movies.... I mean until everything is not copied like same character plot everyhtin then I don't think its a big deal! ...

Oh totally, American movies are copies from other countries as well; but Indian cinema was doing alright on its' own for a long time.  Are there really not any writers left that can create a genuine story?   For the television series, the real genuine revolve around the "saas bahu" issues (which are so exaggerated I laugh when I watch), there is so much in life that can be portrayed why are Indian televisino producers and channels so narrow in their show content?

I agree..... right now a lot of shows are copied in some way from American shows especially movies. But its not the only country tht steals or copy.... Even i saw American shows copied from Hindi so India is not the only culprit here😛

people like us cant stand saas bahu soap....atleast by copying american shows, we get some good indian shows.....and i agree with you...i have seen many american shows and indian shows copy them...even some hindi movies copy scenes from american shows...lyk mpkk ending scene was copied from friends show

well, mara iss la bara ma kuch alag sochna haa. indians ager kuch american copy karta han...tu issi bahana millions of peoples ko kuch alag and interesting dakhna ko tu mill jata ha.somthng else then typically sass bahu daily soaps....
