Makers of Dill Mill Gayye will now come up with a one-of-its-kind dance based fiction show for Channel [V], wherein Shakti Mohan and Amar of DID fame play leads..
Cinevistaas, makers of the very popular youth based show on Star One, Dill Mill Gayye is now making a unique dance based fiction show on Channel [V]. The show which will be a first of its kind, will be completely based on dance, with professional dancers essaying pivotal roles.
The show titled 'Dil Dosti Dance' will air thrice a week on Channel [V]. However, the launch date and slot has not been finalized yet.
Our source states, "Around 600 professional dancers were auditioned for the show, of which 8 dancers have been chosen. Dil Dosti Dance is basically a college-based show, wherein the cream crowd in the college are dancers. It is the story of a Delhi based girl who comes to Mumbai to chase her dreams of becoming a professional dancer".
Shakti Mohan, winner of Zee TV's Dance India Dance Season 2 will play the lead in the show, while finalist Kunwar Amar essays the role of the male lead.
"Shakti Mohan plays the young girl who battles it out with her near and dear ones, her college-mates, and many other people to make it big in life. Noted actress and radio jockey Tarana Raja Kapoor, who was earlier seen in Kasautii Zindagi Kay will play Shakti's mother in the show. The mother will be the biggest enemy of her daughter's aspirations to become a dancer", adds our source.
"Kunwar Amar who has been roped in to play the male lead will be a super rich guy and well-known dancer in the college, who owns his own dance company called Dazzlers", adds our source.
When contacted, Palki Malhotra, Fiction Head, Cinevistaas confirmed the news and said, "Yes, this will be a very different, never-seen-before experience for the viewers. After making a cult show like Dill Mill Gayye, we will be coming up with a dance based fiction show for Channel [V]. We believe in the power of youth, and this will be a niche show for them. We are very much kicked about the concept; the cream crowd in our show are dancers who are experts in Street Dancing. Dil Dosti Dance traces the life of this middle class girl who shifts to Mumbai, overcomes all the hurdles put before her and ultimately becomes an acclaimed dancer. Shakti Mohan and Amar will play the leads".
When contacted, "Shakti Mohan confirmed her presence in the show, "Yes, I am excited to be part of the show. The show is completely based on dance, and I am glad to be working again with Kunwar Amar. Most of my performances in Dance India Dance have been with him".
Kunwar Amar too expressed his happiness on doing the show, "This is going to be a story of dancers. We are presently having various acting workshops, and are looking forward to the show".
Tarana Raja Kapoor too confirmed her presence in Dil Dosti Dance.
We hear that the show will go on floor from 17th of February. Dil Dosti Dance is expected to launch sometime in March..
