Last year, actresses Aishwarya Rai and Mallika Sherawat were invited to the Cannes festival. This year it's the turn of director Karan Johar and actress Preity Zinta to represent bollywood at this esteemed film festival. Both these celebrities will attend a special dinner at this event.
Preity Zinta is extremely excited about being invited to the Cannes and says, "It is an honour to represent your country at the global platform. Aishwarya and Shahrukh Khan had also attended the film festival earlier." Karan is currently wrapping up the finishing touches to his film, 'Kabhi Alvidaa Na Kehna' which also stars Preity. The chirpy Zinta too is busy with her shooting schedules and will be seen in 'Jaaneman', 'Krrish' and also Shaad Ali's next film 'Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom' with Abhishek Bachchan.
Preity will also be doing her world tour 'The Heat' and will be back after a month. Designer Manish Malhotra, for whom Preity walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week, will design Zinta's clothes for her concert. Preity is confident about Manish's capabilities and she knows that even if she does not interfere, Manish will dress her up in his best designs. Last year when Ash and Mallika were at the Cannes, the cynosure of all eyes was on their attire for the various events. Since Manish Malhotra is a good friend of both Preity and Karan, no prizes for guessing who will most probably design their outfits.
Preity exclaims, "I am looking forward to the grand festival and I'm also keen to watch some of the finest international films at the festival. I'm glad that I'll be there with Karan." Well, we think that both Karan and Preity deserve this honor bestowed on them and sure hope that they have a great time at the film festival.
