Abhay & Sid : The Vampire Man & the Band Baaja Man!

Chalo, back to PKYEK. Awesome episode. Well spaced out , good screen space to everyone and yeah, important things happened. Not a single filler scene, ppz! Haaye…………itni badi achievement? Seems Ekta stopped the samosa supply to the writers and they worked hard on the episode since there was no chaai and samose to waste time.
ABHAY RAICHAND
Bachaao ! Bachaao! Koi iss vampire ki lutne waali izzat bachaao. T aur Tracker ne exit maara to Shanaaya aa gayi poster phaad ke. I mean, seriously! Woman , he is your student for heaven's sake and that is not a way to approach him. I am not against teachers and students dating 'coz my moral meters are not applicable to anyone else except me. Often we hear of professors and students getting involved , especially when the age gap is feather light. But Shanaaya was nearly SEDUCING Abhay. I mean what the effing hell! You have been sent to keep an eye on Abhay and dig out his layers and his bond with Piya. Not to daalo haath on his izzat, Poor Abhay. He didn't take more than one second to slip his shirt on and give that signature Abhay glare to Shanzie. On top of that , guess who was witnessing this indecent exchange between Abhay and Shanzie? PIYA!
O Piya, O Piya, O Piya! Pyaar tune kya kiya aur kyun kiya? Abhay-Piya are the hypocrites of the highest order. Picture this :
Piya : Dude , we are just friends … oops, co-students … batchmates and we don't love each – other but am going to go pink in the cheeks on the fashion show flashbacks . And the moment, I see another woman touch you , I will resemble Chaand Raichand in anger.
Abhay : *YAWN*…..We cannot be together. We are biologically and naturally isolated. I am a danger to you blah blah blah. BUT!....The moment you even think that am going candy eyed on another chica, I will come running with my pitaara of explanations , serenade you with all the romantic poetry so that you go Bella & Elena in the head… taa daa!
Got it? Point being that psychologically, Abhay-Piya have conditioned themselves to the fact that they are not gonna be together but the problem is that they cannot condition their emotions. Nobody in this world can. So, it is natural that Piya feels hurt and jealous when she sees Shanzie touch Abhay or talk to him like a C-grade film's seductress. Similarly, when Abhay runs behind her to clear her misunderstanding , he is reacting from an apparently non-existent heart. When he tells her that it's Piya forever, he is NOT THINKING. The entire Abhay-Piya interaction in the corridor was about feelings, not thoughts.
And can I say that I just loved the last scene. It was about the monster in Abhay raising its head at the sight of Piya's blood. The 'IT' that lives inside this man. Nothing wrong or evil. It is the animal instinct of vampires – it is in their nature to go predatory just like it is in a lion's when he sees a lamb or it is in our nature when we pounce on our favourite food.
It is important in Abhay-Piya's journey for Abhay to behave like a normal vampire and Piya help him to control and maneuver his animal instincts. Today , Piya was just dumbstruck , puzzled and frozen by the animal physicality that he unleashed on her by gripping her. He was dominant and that sheer animal magnetism of course totally confused and numbed Piya. But Abhay fought the monster back even after his pupils turned and the fangs sprung out…. He left Piya and turned away , putting the monster back to sleep and telling Piya that this is what he is scared of. Piya did not understand anything because she had not seen what happened so close to her neck. And so Abhay went away, returning Piya's secret to her. He went back to the shadows.
The vampire look was much better today – the fangs and the eyes were done comparatively well. I liked it and Vivian's expressions were as real as the pain the character is supposed to feel.
The scene reminded me of an initial Stefan-Elena scene. Stefan met Elena in a cemetery and they talked coolly and Stefan was so charming and friendly. Suddenly, Elena tripped and got a gash on her leg. The moment Stefan saw that spurt of blood, his pupils dilated and his fangs came out. Stefan didn't react – he just turned his face away and disappeared like a roadrunner. Little did he know, that one day Elena will touch this very ugly face , feed him with his own blood to keep him alive and tell him " Don't hide from me. I love you, Stefan." I am hoping for an equally effective and emotionally charged arc for Abhay-Piya.
SIDDHARTH
Okay, let's admit it, babies. Pancchi does not stand much of a chance in front of Sid , his plotting , planning and his disarming bouts of goodness which may or may not be pretentious. They say that there is one thing in this world that can move mountains and melt icebergs and give even satanic people a benefit of doubt – KINDNESS. Kindness is one such attribute that can melt you , touch you, change your opinion of the most hated. Yes. Kindness is a doorbell to the human heart. And that is exactly what Sid did for Birdie today. He cut off a disturbing and awkward moment by taking Birdie away from Dan saying that she was his fiance. In a way , he protected Birdie from Dan. Later , he did not poke into her past , nor was he sarcastic or insulting. He was just cutely wondering at his own bout of good kindness. And the comforted smile on Birdie's face showed that she was moved by this side of her sick womanizer boss. Sid is going to continue disarming her and the game is set. Pancchi may have lost this game even before it has begun.
We don't know how Sid actually is. He is just as complicated as Abhay even though in a much lighter way on the surface. Don't be surprised if the whole drama that happened today was set up by him to cut Pancchi to size. Don't forget. We have NO idea what Sid is upto.
But yeah, I love PanSid together. They are adorable and it is like watching a chick flick everyday. The look on Pancchi's face was something you could pull her cheeks for when Sid bent on his knew and mock-proposed her. Hmmm…. Pancch, you like Sid, don't you? …I already hear BAND BAAJA BARAATI! Sid is ready. Haha.
P.S- I loved Angad for the maturity and aggression that he showed today putting Tracker in her place. He is truly a friend and it is amazing how he stood up for Piya and told Tracker to find herself. Tracker's ' I FIRE YOU' to T was such a BOUNCER!
