The reason being.....
I was watching the episode before they got married, where he overhears Naintara Dadi and Nivi talking about Siddharth. He looked so heart broken.
I think when he initially told Nivi he loved her, he really did. But when he overheard Dadi and Nivi, he got the idea to use her for his revenge or whatever. I think he does love her, but doesnt want to admit it to himself.
