02/10/2011: Neeraj EXPLODES, then APOLOGIZES

A new college age girl arrives @ the home, w/ her stoller suitcase. Neeraj comes downstairs, sees everybody near the table preparing something to eat, and panics. 😆 He's about to try his escape, but Dadi spots him 😵 She calls him and tells him that she's prepared for him gajar ka halwa. Neeraj refuses, but Dadi tells him it was his father's favorite (So what? I like few of the things my dad likes, & vice versa) Neeraj tells her that he's not hungry, will be back in 5 minutes, and flees 😆👏 Dadi seems disappointed 😔

Neeraj is headed outside, looking back, and bumps into Anjali, who he stops from falling, and who scolds him for not looking. The 2 of them have an eyelock for a few seconds. (uh-oh, I'm not liking this. Hope this doesn't turn out to be a family rishta for Neeraj. Tie her to Anmol, if needed. Besides, the eyelock was totally unlike this show, and uncalled for) Neeraj apologizes, and picks up her suitcase, and continues. Anjali calls him, and asks him whether he's Neeraj. (I'm getting a bad feeling about this - that this new girl is someone the family may be trying to fix w/ Neeraj)

She introduces herself as Anjali, and offers to shake his hand. Neeraj is hesitant, and Anjali tells him that she's the younger sister of his Urmi bhabi. Urmi had told him that he'd be coming, but she didn't know that it would be so soon. She tells him that she's doing an MBA in Mumbai. Neeraj compliments her on that, wishes her well, and tells her that he'll catch up w/ her later.

Neeraj leaves, and Anjali is thrilled that the grandson is such a hunk, and that she has a great reason to now be here. (Anjali, hope you meet Sandhya soon enough)

GB is sitting on the swing chair and notices all this, and says to herself that Neeraj and Anjali would make a good pair - like her & her hubby (GB, is that why you are still here in your maayka? Why ain't your hubby breathing down your neck demanding that you be back? Unlike most other vamps, GB looks like a real cretin)

Anjali interrupts them and tells them that b4 they fill up Neeraj's stomach, she wants to tell them something. She tells them that her mama has sent this mithai from Ahmedabad, and she wants Neeraj to have first dibs on it. Neeraj is exasperated, and tries to explain that he's full, and GB piles on, encouraging him to eat. Neeraj has a nibble and continues.

Raj then asks a servant to bring a gift, and Neeraj is shocked. Raj gives it to Neeraj, who asks him why he gave it @ the dining table - he could have given it later. Anmol helpfully tells him that it was a token of their affection, and suddenly thrusts another mithai into Neeraj's mouth. Everybody surrounds poor Neeraj's mouth (dear, you need to learn to be assertive) and Sandhya is enjoying this as well.

Neeraj is sitting outside on the swing-chair. Sandhya joins him and tells him that she never saw him that angry (Sandhya, try w/ some 10 or more people trying to stuff you every moment of the day, and you'll probably be where Neeraj is) Neeraj tells her b'cos this has never happened to him b4, and he's never seen people like this. He tells her that he's tense, and this is all they can do. He asks her not to try & explain anything.

Sandhya tells him that she's not here to explain anything, but to show him the love of his family that he just ain't noticing. She tells him that they're just trying to make him happy. Instead of trying to understand them, he's venting at them? She tells him that they all seem to love him & want him. She tells him that his baa went to the kitchen @ this age after so many years only for his sake. She tells him that Baa made that for her b'cos that's what his bhauji liked. She couldn't feed her son, but she wanted to fulfill her desire by feeding her grandson. (Well, Sandhya, Neeraj had already had 1 or 2 spoons of what she gave, and it's not like that was the only thing he had to eat)

Sandhya accepts that Neeraj finds this new family & environment somewhat strange, but this sort of anger doesn't suit it. She reminds him that in Gwalior, this is exactly what he used to do. Nobody ever scolded him for that. (Sandhya, did Neeraj ever have anybody - Yuvraj, Jyoti, Priya, DK, Sunita - serially stuffed like he was?) She thought that he'd be happy being w/ his family. Instead, he robbed them of their happiness. Does he even know how embarrassed & saddened they must be?

Sandhya tells him that she thinks that Neeraj doesn't even want to stay w/ them (Wasn't that obvious, Sandhya, it was you who volunteered it, not him) Why is he putting on such a charade of staying w/ them? Why did he bring her along? Had she known that he'd be misbehaving w/ them in this manner, she'd never have come w/ him. She tells him that she can't watch all this - she's leaving.

Neeraj apologizes to her, telling her that he failed to recognize her affection, and asks her to forgive him. The others are all relieved. Neeraj then individually apologizes to them one by one - bari-ma, bhabi,... They all accept his apology, & he leaves, & joins Sandhya. Anmol says that he won't bother Neeraj anymore w/ his words. His father orders that from today, nobody will forcefeed Neeraj or bother him. Neeraj asks Sandhya whether she's satisfied, and will stay, and she agrees. She tells him that it's not b'cos he listed to her, but b'cos he listened to his heart.

GB notices this from downstairs, and gets suspicious. She says to herself that the same guy who exploded just a while earlier like he was about to sever relations was so quick to apologize @ the behest of Sandhya? It was no good her just watching it - she'll have to get deep into this relationship.

Unlike Sandhya, I saw exactly where Neeraj came from, although Sandhya was right as well. Good thing that at the end of it, both understood each other. While I agreed w/ Neeraj about the eating, I didn't so much about the having fun part: what else is bothering him now? Is he suspicious of either his Dadaji, or anyone else?

In a future episode, hopefully, I hope all the family will do to Sandhya what they were trying w/ Neeraj - everybody make her sample what each of them has made, so that she realizes where Neeraj was coming from 😈

I just hope the family other than GB get to notice how Sandhya got Neeraj reconciled w/ them, and don't try to influence him into getting hitched w/ Anjali, who's otherwise nice.
