Okay, having seen a few posts by members with views that i totally concur with , i had to make this post.
Look at PKYEK from the POV of a stylist/a fashionista/ a basic casual dresser.....
Tanushree, barring her initial disasters has turned out to be the most well-dressed woman on the show. Madhura is beautiful, has a reasonably good height , a great body. And the clothes she wears complement her body. When you look at her on-screen, she is a pleasure to watch. Now, if she chooses her own clothes or the stylist decides her wardrobe, no idea. But she is the only show stopper on the show.
Tracker - she is meant to be a fashion disaster and the stylist makes sure that she looks like one. All garbage of Vogue , Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar put together - she gets away with the look of a crammed sore thumb who can't dress normal. Yet, Ruhi looks plesant and cute. Because the clothes she wears go with her overall frame, structure and look.
Kabir- He is always dressed impeccbaly. The t-shirts , the jackets , the coats - always uber cool and fitting his broad masculine tall frame very well. There has not been a single day when he has looked bad. He is meant to look like this royal college stud and he does it. Now, if it is Vishal's own choice or the stylist working, no idea.
Haseena - I L-U-R-V-E the way this stunner dresses up. Yeah, always black but the designs , the chic and smart cuts , the styling and fall of the garment against her body - PERFECT. And the minimal diamond jewelery she uses stands beautifully against her clothes. Kishwer's frame is tall , slender , so the clothes just seem to love her body. She is one woman on this show who never looks bad - not even in asingle frame. I love the look decided for her in the show.
Misha- Her clothing is totally in sync with her character. the best colours , the most sporty and reggae shapes and cuts. Misha is Sport Spice and no matter what she wears, the gament becomes her. She has the bosdy, the attitude to carry the most boysih clothes with a dash of feminine charm. I am hoping that it's all Priya Wal's own wardrobe - because it is so Priya.
Now, having praised the star dressers of this show, i will like to ask the stylist and the creatives if the show, if they have something against Vivian and Sukirti? Here's why.
Vivian Dsena- Yeah, Abhay is supposed to dress in black - or say dark colours because he is a melancholic vampire. But hey, DUDE! What's wrong with your styling senses? He doesn't have to stay in that black shirt and black jacket all the freakin' time. Give him black, give him deep hues of grey, brown , blues. Give him tailored shirts that fit his body, give him casual jackets in different shades of black, grey , brown- with cleaner cuts. Give him polo necks, small v-necks , crisper collars. I mean , you have such a good-looking kid at your hands playing a vampire - he is tall, fair , broad and well-built . He is a designer's dream. What the hell is wrong with you? He is forever stuck in the same set of clothes even though you can do a variation with him everyday. Pick up Damon's shirts , Stefan's jackets , Edward's pullovers ,man if you don't have any imagination of your own.
Sukirti Khandpal- Sigh! Somebody either gimme smelling salts or else send fashion police on the sets of PKYEK whenever the camera rolls for Miss.Piya Jaiswal. I mean , what is wrong with the stylist and the creatives once again? They have their definition of 'simplistic' dressing all wrong. You want to keep her in skirts , spaghetti tops, full sleeve pullovers , stoles and scarves? WUNNERFUL! But at least get the combinations, fittings and tailoring right, for God's sake. It is common sense that if a girl is short and small-framed , you can't be giving her long sweeping gypsy skirts ( the muave one last night was a shame ) , or shrugs that are so ill-sized that they make her look like a polar bear wrapped in blankets. They take away the pretty fragile and dainty appearance of the girl and make her whole frame appear suppressed by clothes. The right look for Sukirti is the one we saw in the classroom kiss episode- a fitted smart orange gunjee with a printed skirt that didn't confuse her toes and a cool stole to complete the look. That is how she should be dressed to highlight her beauty and complexion - not ill-fitted over sized clothes which make her look i-don't-know-what. Give Sukirti knee-length and calf-length skirts , the tops she wears are just fine as long as you don't put those terrible shrugs and knitwear on them. Sukirti is not tall and her body is not like Madhura or Kishwer's. So, the clothes she wears need to complement her petite frame and her good complexion.
Phew!😳 I just had to let it out. While everyone is dressed so fabulously on the show, Vivian and Sukirti seem to be getting no attention and no proper styling even though they are the leads of this show. 😆
