The preface to a ShaNak confrontation!!!


Ok so I am one of the last people to comment and I have my reasons....knew this would take time...perhaps drain me a little emotionally and hence the delay!!

The king of vulnerability is back, and how!!!

KT, you can take a bow, young man for your performance last night!!! Superlative is the word that best describes it!!! Always felt that Shaan's post-proposal confrontation scene with Khanak was amongst his best thus far.....yesterday he went one notch higher!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️

CVs, a heart-felt thank you for the prelude to Dhulwadi....episode dated 28th January 2011.....totally reminiscent of the wonderful days gone by.....great lines (loved the "shakl" line by Shaan👏 ), superb characterization, and fantastic performances by the lead pair ably supported by K family!!

No one could have said it better...👏...fantastic performance coupled with excellent support by writers and the director!!

Loved the attention to detail...

Vastness of the pool used as metaphor for the void in Shaan's persona..... 👏

Shaan engrossed in his thoughts while driving, and returning to his senses only just in time!!!

Shaan's "pooch kyon rahi ho, agar pata hai toh" at the pool-side....a man definitely in unrest!!!

Superb use of Shaan's childhood anecdote to depict the susceptibility of the human mind!!! 👏

The little time lag before Shaan and Khanak's eyes meet at the pool....superb metaphor for the cracks creeping in....

The distance in the ShaNak hug....an indicator of the distance in the ShaNak relationship too???

I love how you are seeing the pool as a metaphor...I loved the hug part..indicating that he is hesitating to accept her whole heartedly...and like I said he propbably just said that he is ok with everything..because he wants to be an ideal husband himself and fears losing her to his insecurities.."what if I voice my doubt and she leaves me because I dont trust her" This seems to be playing on his mind...Everytime when he tries to take a step forward ..she questions if he is doubting her and inturn outs him on the backfoot....I dont think anyone could have done it better!!

Over to ShaNak.......

So, Shantanu Khandelwal is back in form, Friends!!! 👏👏👏 Absolutely loved the little nuances which gave us a glimpse into the Shaan we have known and loved!!! A complete thumbs-up for "aur maine raat bhar kitabon ko haath nahi lagaya" during the childhood anecdote and "mere man me tha...isliye maine keh diya!!" during the pool-side confrontation....so typically Shaan....just tells it like it is!!!.....Attention to detail was also visible in Khanak's depiction....a complete thumbs-up to Khanak's "Aur pariksha ka kya hua??"....so typically Khanak.....innocence personified!!!

Yes the essence of the characters caught after such a long time on the show!! And what a comeback indeed! I loved the example that Shaan cited...such a true reflection of his insecurities...He highlighted two points that had distracted and made him restless that night. Firstly, he said he was worried if Sachin had found some new friend and secondly worried that Sachin was upset over something that he had said or done...lovely parallelism to his current state of mind and affairs. He is worried that Khanak may fall for Suraj 's look alike and at the same time worried that she may get offended by him.

Now, over to the truly gifted actors who 'live' ShaNak.....

KT was mind-blowing yesterday!!! The guy has truly evolved.....has understood the essence of his craft, really!!! First the physicality....superlative use of his Adam's apple; second time in the recent past....earlier had also used it to great effect when he sees Sunny for the first time!!! 👍🏼 Splendid understated use of eyes on expressing sheer disbelief on Khanak's acknowledgement of the Sunny question. Great portrayal of the sense of despair and angst......wonderful restraint shown in the turmoil between head and heart!! The proverbial icing......resplendent emoting just before "Kya tum us raat Sunny ke saath thi?" and the split-second Yes and No combined expression when Khanak asks him if his belief is still intact!!! Words fail me here to express the brilliance shown by this young actor in these moments!! 👏👏👏 Keep working at your craft lad, with your head always over your shoulders.....you're sure to go places.....

He surely can use the Adam 's apple to work in his favor. His gulps become so obvious and highlight the animosity even futrher. His step backward on hearing that she indeed was with Sunny ..and his instability take the scene to a different level altogether!! Very perfectly executed...the adam's apple...breathing hard...not meeting eyes...unsteady steps...super!!

Yashu was fantabulous in her "wifey" avatar the minute Shaan enters....perfectly pitched!!! Great touch also of the sudden realisation of being the cynosure of all eyes....Loved her philosophical bit on the human mind...bang-on!! In the pool-side scene, a thumbs-up for portrayal of the moments when her self-respect seemed challenged👏, and also the pregnant pause in the dialogue delivery when she embraces Shantanu believing that all is well!!

Will take this oppurtunity to reemphasise the fact that KT and Yashu are truly gifted!! There have been countless moments when these two have taken a scene to an entirely different level altogether....like KT yesterday and Yashu during her Sunny/Suraj emotional turbulence act!!!👏👏👏

CVs, here's looking forward to a great Dhulwadi track, with complete justice to these wonderfully blessed young talents....

I just hope and pray..we have not said too much too soon and we will not have to eat our words in the near future..For now it seems like RBO is indeed back!

A heart-felt thank you yet again, for yesterday's episode....a wonderful prelude really, to the return of the Golden RBO Era!!!

Love you analysis 👏....I repeat ..you make me look at things from a different perspective altogether....You ,Aditi, Vandana, Saaz , tvrasika...love the posts that you guys make!
