Runjhun runs to her grandmother's room and is crying. She wakes her grandmother up and embraces her. Amma asks Runjhun what the matter is, and she says that she couldn't stand it anymore. She says she went and told Guddu whatever was on her mind, and burned all the clothes, saying that because he had touched it, it has become impure. Amma says she did the right thing, and there is no reason to cry because of that. Amma tells Runjhun not to worry, and is proud that Runjhun did what even her uncles couldn't do and stood up for herself. She consoles Runjhun not to cry.
Kalsanwali hears the conversations and thinks that Runjhun has invited trouble for the whole household and she has to inform everyone. Outside the house Guddu is still affected by Runjhun's parting words of disgust. Kukkan and Jabbo asks whether they should take care of Runjhun, and all Guddu needs to is give them his word. Guddu silences them.
At the Pandey home Kalsanwali makes a commotion and gets everyone out of their rooms, telling them that she has bad news for all of them. That Runjhun has put all of their lives in danger by her actions. Mittho asks Kalsanwali to tell them what happened instead of just yelling out for no reason.
Amma comes out and tells Kalsanwali to keep quiet or her mouth will rot. She says that what Runjhun has done will bring trouble to the whole house. Her husband Vishnu asks her if she plans on going to jail for spreading false terror. He says Buntu's heart is weak as is. If he dies, she will have to go to jail for it. Kalsanwali informs everyone of Runjhun's actions, and Rahhu asks Runjhun why she had to do such a thing. Mittho cries out that she still has an unwed daughter in the house, and now she has to worry about this. In her mind she thinks that if Guddu throws acid on Runjhun then only she would be happy. She says why did Runjhun have to go and invite trouble to the house.
Amma tells all of them to be quiet. She says that when a dam breaks, villages are ruined by the water current, those that are smart a saved and those that are greedy trying to save their belongings are the ones that drown. She compares her sons and their wives to the greedy villagers that drown. She says she can't believe that she has three sons who have such an empty soul, and tells them that is for sure the doing of the three witches they've been wed to. She says Runjhun did a brave thing, which was better than tolerate all that was done to her and kill herself in the silent suffering. She tells them instead of praising and standing by Runjhun they have the nerve of cursing her. She tells them to go hide behind their wives. It would have been better if she wouldn't had sons at all.
Runjhun is upset by all of this but Amma tells her not to cry as her uncles can not understand, and she tells her that her tears and sorrow are wasted on the likes of them. She takes Runjhun back to her room, and tells Runjhun that what she did to Guddu is the same thing she should do to her uncles and aunts.. Runjhun is worn out, and tells her grandmother that they are family, and not the enemy like Guddu Shukla who purposefully wants to harm her, and go against her.
Amma is sad that Runjhun isn't able to see the treachery in her family's heart. She tells Runjhun that till now she hasn't been able to see the true face of those she considers family, who are vindictive and use her as a free slave. Runjhun says that they are still family, and for now her mind is so disturbed that she doesn't even want to think about marriage.
Amma asks Runjhun why she is saying something like that. She says that she shouldn't let something like that affect her so much. Runjhun asks her grandmother how Abhi could have brought back all that Guddu defiled. How could he think that she would be okay with wearing the things that Guddu had touched. She tells Amma that Guddu made a mockery of her hopes and dreams, how could Abhi not understand that.
Amma tells Runjhun she understands why she is upset, but she has think of the fact that Abhi was with her when she needed him. She says that as a woman she can understand Runjhun's feelings but Abhi didn't understand it as a man. She tells Runjhun that she understand that she is confused and hurt right now. She tells her to take a calm breath and close her eyes. She says that when she thinks of her marriage, the image she sees in her mind will be the one who she will marry. The one who is meant to be her life partner.

Outside, Guddu is kneeling by the fire and staring at the flames, thinking that Runjhun shouldn't have challenged him like that. He remembers her telling him that she hates anything he touches. Aloud he reiterates what Runjhun has said that by touching Runjhun's wedding attire he made it impure, and she burned it in front of him. He says he will make Runjhun clearly understand, the implications of her words.
Next morning Rajju is worried, as the he's got a notice that his perfume making is causing pollution and he needs to shut down his factory. Kalasanwali says that he should bribe them to make them understand, and they can't just shut the factory like that. Mittho says she is worried about what will happen. Rajju says not to worry about his work but rather about what happens at home. If Runjhun gets married, then they will be headed for an even bigger loss. Mittho says that she has a plan that will break the marriage for sure. She says something cryptic, but Kalsanwali doesn't understand. She tells Kalsanwali that the matchmaker, Usha Di, and Mittho have made a plan that will definitely break Runjhun's marriage, and all she has to do is watch it happen.
