Old no more
The stars of Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kumkum may be preparing to don an older look for their shows and play parents and grandparents, but one actor who is heaving a sigh of relief for not being required to do that is Prachi Shah. The girl can be seen in Suno... Harr Dill Kuch Kehtaa Hai, and other than her role of a simple girl who is into business, Prachi is really excited about playing her age. "Thankfully I don't have to keep my hair tied in a bun and wear saris all the time in this show. I can play my age. Also, in the first six odd episodes, I will be shown getting married. So, there will be a lot happening for me in the first few episodes," she says excitedly. Prachi plays the lead protagonist's elder sister and also a businesswoman. Other than the show, Prachi is busy with her kathak and married life. "It's so different being married," she says, "I have clarified beforehand that I won't be shooting post 7 pm because now I have a family to look after."
Not so filmi
Many TV actors are crossing the border and doing films of late. So, when when one heard that Riva Babber has a meaty role in the film Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, in which she plays Preity Zinta's sister, it came as a pleasant surprise because not only had she managed to bag such a big project but got one of the leading roles too. However, when we asked Riva about her role and how she managed the coup, she was more than surprised! In fact, she was shocked to hear this because she is, in fact, not playing Preity's sister. In fact, she says that she isn't doing the film at all! It's just a rumour being spread by someone. "I'm not doing the film. But, how I wish...' she says as a parting shot. Well, if wishes were horses...
Less is more
It's nothing uncommon to have celebs doing game shows, not only anchoring but also participating in them. One actor who had kept away for so long has been Kamalika Guha Thakurta. After keeping away from gaming, she finally gathered enough courage to participate in Kam Ya Zyada. But, self-admittedly, she developed cold feet at the last minute and wanted to withdraw, only to realise that it was too late. But, she went on to play, even though reluctantly, and came back winning Rs 70,000. She was heard gushing, "For half day's work, this amount is not bad at all!" Of course it isn't... and we are sure her phobia for game shows is gone too. So don't be surprised to find Kamalika participating in more of them!
