Now both are drifting apart, he doesn't defend her as vigorously as before and she's stopped confiding in him, like by shutting the bedroom door. He can't even share in her tears.
She's not Gujarati, why does she have to keep any vrat? She was only trying to help by allowing her mom to bring in the food so they wouldn't go hungry. Mona's folks forgot about their religious rules and regulations, but they had no bad intentions.
Personally, I don't think any religion is so kaccha that itni aasanee sey dharam bhrasht ho jai.
Ambaji is taking this too far...Mona is Sikh, so she shouldn't have to keep the vrat.
