Let's talk about chemistry baby!

Some onscreen couples have great chemistry, but some don't! Neha Maheshwri does a quick check...

It is their hot sizzling chemistry that gets you hooked on to the show. The lead couple plays a pivotal role in garnering the viewership for the show. In some cases, there is sizzling chemistry, but there are some couples where there's still a lot that's needed. Here's a look...

Daya-Jethalal:
The lead couple of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah played by Disha Vakhani and Dilip Joshi make a cute couple in an uncanny manner. It is their comic timing that makes the duo a treat to watch. Jethalal's innocence and righteousness is matched up perfectly well by Daya's squeaky voice and child-like attitude. They came, saw and conquer even more hearts with every passing day, as the channel walks away with all the accolades banking highly on the pair.

Taani-Anurag:
Considering Tere Liye is a love story, Taani and Anurag (played by Anupriya Kapoor and Harshad Chopra) should have sizzled on screen, but sadly that's not the case. The love between the kids during the pre-leap looked more convincing than the chemistry between the grown-up Taani and Anurag. The show may have risen on the rating charts owing to the recent dramatic twist in the storyline, but it's still a long way for the lead pair to make their way into viewers' hearts. The duo needs more romantic scenes and our advice to them is to perform them more passionately. Time to pull up your socks Anupriya and Harshad.

Iccha-Veer:
They may have been projected as the Amitabh-Jaya Bachchan jodi, but seems too far from having clinched the deal and strike the right chord. Apparently, Veer (Nandish Sadhu) shares a better chemistry with Tapasya (Rashmi Desai) in Uttaran. We wonder if the dismal chemistry with Ichcha is also a result of the cold war between the two leading ladies of the show as Sandhu is dating Rashmi and it's official guys. Perhaps it's their real life relationship that does the trick, but Iccha-Veer need to infuse more passion into their relationship.

Nivedita-Viren:
The damsel in distress was all set to get married to the love of her life but this would be defying destiny. It is when, Kinshuk who essays Viren came like a knight in shining armour and married the dame (Nivedita played by Neha Sargam) on Chaand Chhupa Badal Mein. Though it was a setback for the viewers who were wishing for a miracle to happen that would bring Nivi and Sid together, Kinshuk and Neha's chemistry did work for the show.

Suhana-IshAan:
The two characters are as different as chalk and cheese but still manage to pull off a strong and unique chemistry on their show, Sasural Genda Phool. Ragini Khanna may look older than her co-actor Jay Soni, but they still make a cute couple. Her mischievous streak and Jay's cute and boy-next-door image works wonder for the show. What say more, we love the way Ishaan secretly admires Suhana and fears expressing his feelings to her. Like Suhana, we too will wait for the right moment.

Pratigya-Krishna:
A very unconventional pair, but this is apparently the main reason behind their popularity. It's nice to see Krishna try every trick in the trade to please his lady love on Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya. Seasoned co-actors and interesting twists and turns have helped this jodi remain popular too. We hear that everytime the makers shift their focus from the leading couple, the show registers a dip. So guys, you now know what gives you the ratings.

Akshara-Naitik:
Sometimes it's the serial that clicks with the viewers and the actors who might not look sizzling as a couple reap it's benefit. Hina Khan and Karan Mehra who essay Akshara and Naitik of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, may not have an iron-hot chemistry on camera but the novel concept of the show that explores post marriage supports the couple incredibly well. We hear that the two don't share such a great camaraderie off screen, but manage to put up a great show by keeping their issues aside. This couple certainly scores high on professionalism.

Manu-Gangadhar:
This certainly is an odd pairing considering the land-slide age difference between them. Lakshmi bai at the age of 13, played by Ulka Gupta gets married to Raja Gangadhar ( Sameer Dharmadhikari) and sans any romantic scenes, the couple manages to earn a special place in the hearts of the viewers. Kraitka Sengar stepped into Ulka's shoes to play grown-up Rani Lakshmi bai and the chemistry continued to sizzle. However, it came to a sudden halt, post Gangadhar's death, with Lakshmi bai missing her dead husband dearly.

Archana-Manav:
This is a made-for-each-other couple (both off-screen and on it). Probably, it's their off-screen camaraderie that reflects on screen. Both appear to be hailing from a modest background with strong values. Archana and Manav became one of the most loved on-screen pair on television overnight. Well jab miyaan biwi raazi toh kya karega kaazi, even the destiny couldn't separate the two on the show.
