Farhan Akhtar in Baba Azmi's directorial debut

That renowned cinematographer Baba Azmi, Shabana Azmi's brother, will work on his directorial debut this year, is known.

The update is that this debut will be a love story and will star Farhan Akhtar. However, the hunt is still on for Farhan's leading lady.

Farhan confirms this and says, "After Zoya's film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, in which I play one of the leads, has its theatre release I will start working for Baba Azmi's film.

The character I'll play is very different from the ones I've done in the past. We start in July 2011."

Talking about his first directorial venture, Baba Azmi says, "Yes, I am directing a film that will star Farhan. His production house, Excel, will produce the film. It's a love story.

I will not do the cinematography in it though. Handling both the camera work as well as direction would be too much for me."

Baba has chosen Ananyaka Bose to do the cinematography in his film. She worked on Kites, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and I Hate Luv Storys. Jagdish Acharya, a friend of Baba's, has written his film.
