I am cent percent sure that even the deceased father of Sajjan Singh was an even bigger monster and Sajjan Singh is kinda soft towards Amma since she adjusted to all his demands and maybe Dadi was of a nature similar to Kesar and lost her voice due to the tortures inflicted on her by her husband.
This might have happened when neither Krishna nor Komal were born or maybe able to understand anything and hence they know it as a maun-vrat. This accounts for the respect SS gives her as well and Shakti doesn't since he doesn't understand all that.
