If Carter Burwell's old-fashioned piano tunes and score for True Grit was lovely music to your ears, then you ought to check out the rest of the esteemed composer's work – which will soon include both parts of the conclusion to the hit supernatural romance series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Burwell was responsible for scoring director Catherine Hardwicke's original Twilightadaptation and will reunite with his Kinsey/Gods and Monsters collaborator, director Bill Condon, for the final chapters in the story of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and her sharp-toothed, pale-skinned and/or hairy boytoys companions.

Breaking Dawn began shooting last November with Condon at the helm and franchise regulars Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner all reprising their roles as Bella, Edward the vampire, and Jacob the shape-shifter, respectively. Dakota Fanning and Michael Sheen (who's finished playing air guitar inTRON: Legacy) are also back as members of the Volturi, the deadly vampire council whose interests will once again conflict with that of Bella and Edward's in the Twilight finale.

Alexandre Desplat (The King's Speech) conducted the musical chords in New Moon and Howard Shore led the orchestra for Eclipse. Shore will be reuniting with Peter Jackson to score The Hobbit and The Playlist has revealed that Condon is instead collaborating with Burwell on his new project.

Burwell will join an impressive team of technical artists working behind the scenes onBreaking Dawn, including the likes of Pan's Labyrinth cinematographer Guillermo Navarro;Avatar visual F/X supervisor John Bruno; and 300/Watchmen costume designer Michael Wilkinson. That all of these individuals will be working together on a Twilight movie is undoubtedly disappointing for those that loathe Stephenie Meyer's source material and their respective cinematic adaptations on principle. Still, it could mean that Breaking Dawn offers something more than just more fodder for the fans (… maybe).

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 arrives in theaters on November 18th, 2011.Part 2 will follow on November 16th, 2012.

He had my favorite score of them all. The most distinctive and the most fitting with the mood of the series.

I hope this means he'll be bringing in a few of the themes from Twilight too. The lack of score continuity has been so annoying. I love this return to the beginning.

I couldn't ever get my "ears off" Bella's Lullaby and Esme's favorite. His soundtracks were the best!
