TC had earlier reported about Sony's Jubilee Comedy Circus. Pooja Gor who was paired with Rajeev Thakur had backed out of the show but now the news is that she might stay on the show. Two new jodis; Shikha Singh and Kapil Sharma along with Anand Goradia of Na Aana Iss Des Laado and Chandan (Stand up artist) have also joined the cast of the show.
Pooja Gor had opted out of the show at the last moment due to a lot of issues. It is said that both the channel and the production house were upset with the actress for the same.
States a source, "Pooja was keen on doing the show, but there were certain issues with her doing the show which is said to be had to with the channel (Star Plus). The actress had already informed about her decision but things were not sorted out. As she plays Pratigya which is a strong character and so her being a part of Comedy Circus might dampen her Pratigya image. One of the reasons also could be with the kind of punches they make in the show, which itself contradicts with the concept of soaps. But another fact is that, Pooja has not signed a special contract with Star that she would have to back out from the show."
Another source adds, "Sony is trying to put off the fire by finding some solution. Things look a bit better now and so Pooja will again be seen in the show, as the issue seems to be resolved now."
Says Pooja, "Whatever the mess was, is now sorted and I am doing the show now, is just what I want to say." Sanjeev Sharma, from Optymistix says, "I don't know much about the issue, she is fulfilling her part of the job and we are happy with it."
A channel source clarifies, "We don't have any problems with her doing the show, whatever small issues it might be are fine, it happens, no problems as such."
Shikha Singh also confirmed her presence in the show. Says Shikha, "Yes I am doing the show and excited as I am doing Comedy for the first time, but I don't have any idea about the issue, so can't say anything."
