Kumkum leap ahead shooting commences
BAG Films, the makers of Kumkum have commenced shooting for the upcoming 20 years leap slated to go on air from April 10, 2006. Vivan Bathena (Mr India 2001, Kyunki Sas bhi kabhi bahu thi) will play the grown up Dhruv (Kumkum and Jatin's son) while Gaurav Khanna (Bhabhi, Siddhanth fame) and Chahat Khanna (Don, Shakalaka Boom boom, kitty party) will be the twins.

Karishma Mehta, who is a familiar face in Telegu films (was also seen in Yehi to hai woh on Star one) and Sayantani Ghosh who has done a number of Bengali films in Kolkata have been selected to play the female lead opposite Vivan Bathena.

Commenting on the introduction of the new characters Anurradha Prasad, Managing Director, BAG Films said, "Kumkum the leading afternoon soap in Star Plus has taken a 20 year leap after three and a half years. Due to excellent viewer response we have introduced new characters in the serial and we are sure that viewers will enjoy viewing the leap in Kumkum."

Commenting on the introduction of the new characters Rajesh Chadha, Senior Vice President – Operations, BAG Films said, "The casting of fresh faces will infuse new interest among the viewers and will definitely reflect the goodness of the characters and the personae as has always been the USP of our serial Kumkum."

Commenting on the introduction of the new characters Sanjay Upadhayay, Creative & Ideation Director, BAG Films said, "Our focus is to build characters which have life of their own so they can be a part of the life of our audience. Bizarre plots are common today but times are changing, Star plus and B.A.G Films Ltd. are trying to capitalize on this new trend of programming which will make Kumkum interesting for our viewers."
