3 Idiots in Tamil - Confirmed - Page 2

It has not been confirmed as yet but there is a strong wave of talk going around in the industry which says that actor Surya would be replacing Vijay in the Tamil remake of the Bollywood Blockbuster '3 Idiots' directed by Shankar after his earlier film 'Enthiran' turned out to be a hit all over the world.

The original '3 Idiots', which starred Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharmaan Joshi was a runaway hit. Ilayalathapathy Vijay was supposed to play the key role essayed by Aamir Khan in the original version.

However Last week, Vijay walked out of the film in a rather unexpected manner. Reports said that Vijay withdrew at the eleventh hour stating that he might not be able to alter his appearance for the film as he would be acting in two other films simultaneously.

Whether he was 'removed' or he walked out on his own, the hunt for another actor to replace him has already been launched by Shankar and the producers, Gemini Lab.

Sources close to Shankar say that he has apprroached Surya about the remake and the maverick actor has agreed in principle to star in the film.

Whether Vijay plays the lead role or Suriya plays the lead role…viewers would only be hoping that the leading lady, Ileana D'souza remains unchanged as she makes a comeback in Tamil films with this film!
