Rekha, Jamuni & Suman-an affair of the heart!

For the first time, today's show had an indepth discussion in a particular scene - the discussion between Rekha, Suman and Jamuni regarding the issue of a divorce.👏👏👏

It was a long time coming! And was "just a little" more indepth than any other discussions I have seen so far in this serial. It gives more meaning to the issue, and greater understanding of the characters and where they are coming from regarding the stand they have taken. 👏👏👏

Two women are trying to save their marriages: Rekha and Suman.

It may seem that Suman is trying to influence Rekha to go against her sister. But if you look a little deeper, it appears Rekha has/had already made up her mind on what she wants to do. And it is going to be really hard for anyone to change it. 😕

Suman is using all the advantages that she can see to save her own marriage. Even if it means creating animosity between the sisters. 😕😕

Jamuni, who has lived with the manipulative Ranvijay for seven years, is desperately trying to save Rekha from his clutches. She already foresees what is going to happen in the future to the poor, naive Rekha. 😲😲

What's wrong with Rekha? Why is she not seeing the danger that the abusive, alcoholic Ranvijay is presenting to her. 😲😲

According to experts, this a common theme among women who are attached to serial abusers. Despite warning signs, woman often underestimate the danger their partners represent.😡😡

In Rekha's case, we can only assume she is woman with traditional ideas of a marriage - even if it is a loveless one. Ranvijay has told her he wants to change, and she is willing to give him that chance. She wants a true marriage to the man she is married to. Rekha may believe that this is what God has ordained for her. Maybe she thinks it is her fate!😲😕

I agree with you there. The conversation between the three was quite interesting today, and it showed why the three women are doing what they are. It seems like Rekha is trying to save her marriage even if her husband is abusive (and she comes from a poor background so she is probably trying to make the best out of it). Yes,there are many cases like this in real life, where women would do anything to save their marraige as they are traditional (even Suman is trying to).

Rekha's case is very typical of a battered wife syndrome. Husband beats her black and blue. Later on, he will apologise and make promises to change, and the wife would forgive him. Then days, or weeks later it would happen all over again. 😡😡😡

If such a thing can go on in a rich, developed western country such as the US, where all the help is available such as help lines, help groups, no drop policy regarding the issue of spousal beating, then why are we surprised at Rekha's reluctance to divorce RV?😲😲😲

It is easy to sit judgment when you are an outsider. Many self-righteous people would say: "Huh! She is such a coward. If I was in her position, I would have left my abusive husband long ago." 😕😕

But that is never the case. Many women go through years of abuse before they can summon up enough courage to leave their violent husbands. 😭😭

In this case, what Rekha is going through, nobody wants to understand such as the pull of the traditional role of a wife; the fear of what society will say; the believe that this marriage was written in her fate, etc .

(Changing husbands may come easily to Laali, but her poor sister still very much believes in the sanctity of her marriage.)

Ranvijay has asked for forgiveness and tells her that he wants to change. Like all abused woman, his words have given her hope and she is ready to forgive, until he beats her again. 😭😕😲

I did not watch the scene but it sounded interesting that they talked about divorce and how they see it. The need to save their marriage is a noble gesture. After all who wants to get divorced unless it is the last solution. One tries to make it work as much as one can.
Women are typically the ones who most of the time try harder...not saying that men don't.

Rekha is an abused woman. She staying in her marriage because she is very traditional and feels obligated by her society's rules to stay put in the marriage. Divorce is probably frowned upon and that is how she sees it. I commend her for trying to save her marriage.

It is also true that it is not easy in real life to get out of an abusive marriage because of economic, emotional and mental reasons. 😭😭😭
However I believe the woman can not keep playing the victim role forever.
At some point she has to find the strength to pull out or BUT that can only be done IF the person wants it.

Hopefully Rekha will be smart enough to get out of that marriage...it's in her hands......
