Crying and Crying
Every-time some female contestant (I don't recall her name) is either praised or criticized for her dish, she starts crying. Man this is getting overdone. Please stop this. We want to see this show for food and healthy-competition, not some sad emotional drama. There are enough saas-bahu serials for ronaa-dhonna.
Few weeks back, one lady was eliminated, but she didn't cry, I salute her for that. Indian women are not weak but strong!
No minute by minute commentary please
When they're preparing the food, after every 30 seconds they'll show one of the contestant giving his / her afterthoughts about it. That running commentary is killing the rhythm, not always but at many times.
Chopping fingers with knifes
Every now and then these 'mature cooks' end up chopping their own fingers while cutting the sabji with knife to add more drama and sensation! Come on, this is getting overdone!
The unbelievable time-limit for each dish!
In most episodes the contestants are tasked to complete a dish (which they've never prepared before in their life) in only 60-90 minutes, seems very unbelievable to me. Obviously lots of film-editing is done and not less than 3 hours would be spent by each contestant to finish his her dish, along with shooting it from different camera angles and giving 4-5 retakes for all those 'cutting finger with knife' and doing 'crying-crying emotional drama'. Then why not be frank about it, rather than show all this hypocrisy of 'race for getting food-raw material in minimum time, 'making creative dishes in only 90 minutes' blah blah blah.
In some episodes they're ordered to make 'completely new dish', how someone can think of a creative dish that was never made before in just 90 minute? Ofcourse there would be some chefs to advice and assist them behind the camera! Why not be frank about this?
In the recent Dhaba cooking episode, Akshay Kumar dressed as old Sardarji, in the store-room.
Even a 5 yo kid could say this Akshay kumar in Sardar-ji disguise! But our 30+ years old contestants can't see it! Looks very very unbelievable (and unfunny) for a reality cooking show.
Not a level playing ground
Adding insult to the injury, deserving candidate Zebi Zuber eliminated. How can you expect a normal middle class Indian housewife to be efficient in Ultra fancy cake making? Ofcourse they'd give logic that master-chef should be master in all types of dishes. But IMO most of the dishes given in the contest, are fancy-modern 5-star food stuff, giving unfair advantage to certain people with certain socio-economic-educational background and working against normal-housewives like Zebi Zuber.
