I believe death is a gr8 sleep, a great rest after the whole life.It makes you anew, it makes you fresh, it resurrects you....but our mind only thinks abt things. "What will happen after death?" Why can't you wait? One thing is certain....you will die ' I guarantee it! How you prefer to die, that is another matter.😃

But vinu, one might argue that as long as you breathe you are still alive, so sleep is not counted as death ,although it does seem like a temporary death, I agree. We are aware of the death called sleep because we wake up, it's not in the case of actual death, where we stop breathing and never wake up. :) How this was related to the aathma question I dunno but it was an interesting post of urs 😆

Once Confucius asked Lao Tzu "People ask me about death but I dont knw anything abt it. You are older and wiser... You love to move into dangerous spaces of consciousness.... Do you have some idea?" And Lao Tzu said, "Without dying, there is no way to knw death..... The only way to know it is to experience it. ....Finding out about it beforehand is silly. Right now, try to live... otherwise you will miss this too!"
So try once...!!😆

Anyway we are all just another character in a book and there is nothing unique about most of us.
The Almighty Author or the Force can always replicate another one of us without hesitation; but often He will not do it.
But we may miss certain person temporarily I guess. Living in the world it is hard not to be attached and share emotions and enjoy worldy passtimes.
I believe that if we keep thinking of the person who is gone, sooner or later he or she may come back for us; but it is not nice to trouble them as certain souls too may have other works.

@ bold: i think this too! i feel that sometimes if we really have a hard time coping with someone's death, they feel they need to come back to guide us.

in human form we are able to feel pain and other emotions that cannot be felt at spirit state. that is why we are sent down as humans b/c we need to feel and go through certain emotions and phases of life. so, we feel pain for someone's death b/c we are supposed to, but it is important to let go and hope their spirit is free and in a better place.

I apologize for the delay of my reply. I just now got the chance to come back and read all the replies. I enjoyed reading all the different perspectives that you all had to share. :)

I don't know whether I fear death or not. I guess what scares me the most is the fact that we only get one opportunity to be born into a human form. Do any of you believe that?

Death impacts me greatly...It just really affects me greatly when it is the death of someone that is really close to me. I still remember the day my entire family was in the hospital praying for my baa (grandma). I was extremely close to her as she was my only grandparent left at that time. We spent most of our time together. I was around 14 that time and it impacted me greatly. I still remember my older cousins standing by my side comforting me because I just didn't know how to take all this at such a young age. It was a difficult phase for me that time. At that time I was too young to really think about anything. As I started growing older I started to understand the real meaning of life. But with the events going on in my life I just can't come across to finding any happiness on the path of life. Every time I seek to look at the brighter side of things, something or the other happens and I'm back to my pessimistic side.

I don't find happiness. Or if I do it lasts for a brief second. And because of this reason I start to hate life and do not appreciate it for what it really is. I also believe in the saying "everything happens for a reason." But sometimes things are beyond my control and I can't help myself but to think why did this happen to me. I don't know. I guess I'm just living in a totally different world. =/ My life is a mess.

Anyways RTH please don't feel like you're the reason I don't come to this section! Haha. You're a very great person & mod! :)

And a big hello to all. Its great reuniting with some of you after a long time! :)

Thanks for all your thoughts and insights!

I actually don't believe that we are born once. I believe in reincarnation, and that life and death are just entering and leaving one spiritual plane and another. We're sent here to rejuvenate the soul and learn lessons and go through phases that we must feel.

I have grown to not fear death, but I do feel very sad hearing anyone's death still. It pains me for some reason, and I can't understand it. I don't have to have ever meet them to feel upset by their death. Just knowing a good human being died upsets me.

I'm sorry you are going through such tough times, but I hope and pray in good time you will overcome each obstacle and be stronger person. Everything does happen for a reason, and even though the reason may not be known now, you will understand later.

Best of luck CPR, and I hope you do not get disheartened as well all have to go through the phases of life, and we each do have our own obstacles. It's not because life or God hates us, but it's because we have to go through certain phases and learn certain lessons.

Good luck to you girl, and I wish all the best! 😃 Don't know if I help or just added to your confusion. If I made you confused, don't worry about anything I said! 😆

Thank you Tulip for such kind words. Even I refuse to believe that we are all born only once in a human form.

I suppose its just God's way of testing us!
Thank you for your sweet & supportive words of reassurance! :)
