i agree that a lot of people have the celebrity worship syndrome... people would have your head if you criticise their favs... šŸ˜†šŸ˜† it is childish... i don't know why people become so defensive about their favs... and it's not just limited to that one topic, so really just pointing blame at fans of a particular celeb is not the answer... every celeb has such fans... some more zealous than others...!
and i agree... celebs should be the last people we should feel lucky about chatting... i don't see what the big deal is about getting a reply from a celeb, or to get an autograph from them... sure, i watch movies... i wouldn't stand in a line to meet them though... my time is precious...! šŸ˜› i've done crazy things for watching a movie... like standing in a line for 4 hours for harry potter... šŸ˜†šŸ˜† but thankfully, never for a celeb...!
most of the celebs have hidden skeletons in their closet... and i love how vehemently the rumours are denied, no matter how much truth is in them... of course, some are just that, rumours, i.e.... but 90% of the time, they have base in truth...!
that being said.... i don't think you should start handing out labels to members... hopefully, one day they'll grow out of this phase, and perhaps laugh about it later... none of the celebs should be revered so much....!!

Celebrity Worship Syndrome... No better place than right here in the Bollywood Section...
Why the worship?? Why put them on a pedestal and think they cannnot do any mistakes...
Why do people forget end of the day the celebs too are human beings...
They go thru the same mistakes, the same insecurities, same prejudices, the same peers pressure, the same competitveness, the same emotions just like any of us.....
Only difference is it is played out in front of the whole world... but yes thats the price they pay for all the fame money and the stardom they are getting.....
I am sure they all in the course of time develop a thick skin and have their own way of dealing with it and moving on.....
Any negative criticism any negative comment... the fans are more offended..... Its not like the stars commited some heinous crime or something that fans get touchy and are in denial abt it.....
Not just here I talking in general fans out side too....
Why is it an issue if something is written about Katrina's lip job or a PC's nose job or a Kareena's jaw job or Ash's cheek implants or Salman's Hair job or a SRK's Botox or a Hrithik's steroids...
They are in show biz... They are paid for how they look...Their face is what sells...
If they get something here and there so what...
As long as its not something drastic like a Koena Mitra who ending up
looking like Michael Jackson 2....
the rest of the celebs are fine, its their face...its their body...its their boob.. its their nose..its their butt..
A nip here a tuck there is fine...
Why just them... If I was paid crores to look good... i would have the Plastic surgeon's number on my speed dial.....😊
We as audiences have to be blamed tooo..... We want a perfect looking Kareena with no flab... a perfect looking Ash with no wrinkles... A perfect SRK with no signs of aging.....
And in today's day and age why just the celebs... even regular people go for beauty enhancing tecniques... Okay not a common thing but yes it is not a rarity either....
Many in the upper crust of Mumbai have Botox parties as frequently as a kitty party... šŸ˜†
And nose jobs .... yes the cosmetic surgeons in Mumbai are the most sought after docs.....
Okay coming to my point what I am trying to say they are humans tooo. They can smoke... they can drink... they can party... they can have the boob jobs nose jobs, they can bitch.. they can say wrong thing at the wrong time etc..
What they do is not any differnt than any regular person would do...
Okay they are made fun off here on the forum bocoz of that.... Fine... What is not made fun off here...
Everything is discussed and dissected and scrutnised and analysed and overanalysed by all of us here... šŸ˜†
All I am trying to say is not to get personal... They dont even know we exist....Bcoz of the celebs people get worked up and end up leaving the forum....

why do fans get worked up in the first place...??
the celebs are criticised rightly... if they have an extra marital affair (akki, hrithik, srk, aamir, etc.) , or have an affair with a married man (priyanka, rani, etc.), they are the ones who are responsible... sure, they deny it, or drink/drive and end up killing someone (salman), why do the fans deny it... the celebs make the mistake, and are criticised for it... so what...? in normal everday life, people also get criticised for such things... but we are not discussing those normal everyday people here, are we...? šŸ˜›šŸ˜› we are discussing the celebs... it is the bollywood forum... šŸ˜›šŸ˜›
it's funny... first it's the denial, and then it's the justifications...! šŸ˜†šŸ˜† and what's up with trying to control what comments people should make or not make...? nobody was stopping any of the fans from commenting... go ahead, and make your arguments, but why in the world would you make things personal... why do people think they have the right to take pot shots at the members...?? it's so immature...!! šŸ˜›šŸ˜› and honestly, what's up with the dhamki... i'm leaving the forum, blah blah blah... i don't know what happened in the past, but i see what is happening now... but if people think it's okay for them to pass judgement on other members, then this is definitely not the place for it...!! šŸ˜›
and the criticism is for the celebs, whatever it may be... not for the members... then why do people take it so personally...??
why can't people just enjoy and have fun with the discussions....!! keep the discussions on the celebs, and really, why get 'hurt' because your favourite is criticised...
none of these celebs feel any guilt for all the wrongs they do... i see pics of srk smoking in people's faces... how disgusting is that, not to mention ill-mannered...! and if i say so, how am i bashing him... isn't that the truth...?? šŸ˜›šŸ˜› some of the fans really need to learn how to take criticisms abou their favs in stride....!!
i don't mind discussions on celebs... but please keep it to that... i don't think that's a lot to ask for... topics only end up closing, because most people start to attack other members for their opinions...!! šŸ˜›šŸ˜›
it's unfortunate really... mods are trying their level best to keep peace, but many just ignore it... all of us have different opinion on matters... least we can do is keep things civilized...!! really, it's not that hard....!
it's disappointing to see people fighting over a celeb...!!

Some people have celebrity worship syndrome, some have celebrity bashing syndrome, which is no better. I think I fall into the latter category. Now which one is worse?

as long as you keep your discussions to the celebrities, it does not matter... šŸ˜›šŸ˜›šŸ˜›šŸ˜›
however, if you start to make things personal and take pot shots at members for either being a fan or a critic, then that's a different story...!! šŸ˜›šŸ˜›šŸ˜›šŸ˜› i don't think any of the members need to be bashed for their opinions, whatever they might be....!!
it's true... i will never understand why some of the celebs are revered so much... it's amusing... most of the celebs have their faults... and i think everyone should expect that their favs are not perfect, and will be criticised for something or the other... but, if people want to praise their celebs to sky, does not matter...
things only get out of hand, when the discussions become personal...! šŸ˜›šŸ˜›

The biggest problem with the zealous fans is that they don't see that their favorites are flawed and then spend hours defending/justifying their faves....for what? It's not like that celebrity is gonna thank them some dayšŸ˜†

The article was correct, Bollywood movies are escapism, but our actors should not be "worshiped".

Now I love SRK as an actor, but I cringed when he was introduced at the Golden Globes a few years ago....I was expecting something like, "a top/well-known actor in the Bollywood film industry who has fans similar to Tom Cruise". Instead they said "King of Bollywood"šŸ˜” and left it at that
He may be the "king" but it didn't give him any brownie points to be taken seriously by those who didn't know who he was in the first placešŸ˜†

That was wierd "the King of BW" lol ridiculous...bu well that's his nickname....

Some fans like Nuktaacheen & Sweet Coco NEVER mind their fave being bashed --- they either ignore or post a productive comment - just simple as that --- others take digs & try to humiliate members or ridicule their liking and them defending their faves - not a good thing.
It happens that we may go a bit far in the comments as long as hurting members isn't the purpose it's fine.
If people worship some celebs - there's nothing wrong with that.
But some act like if they sleep eat & talk with them on a daily basis or act as if they're the Dr Freud or sth..well...ok...but that's not credible.
We can't possibly know who they are. We only believe they are a certain way.
Anyway there's a difference btwn the image they put on screen and their off screen persona.
X dates Y....! well do you sleep with them?
A SHOULD MUST HAVE TO get married to B....! well mind your own business - A NEVER says to you personally that she/ he SHOULD MUS HAVE TO get married to B.
T can't act & says she's single...
C can act and says she's never had a BF ...so what...?
X didn't deserve V's love...and what about you - do you deserve the right to write such cruel thoughts.... duh!
well...
you say this to me cause i'm a ....'s fan *sobbing* wake up -- I really don't give a BEEP about who you like but more about what's the actual content in your brain....mystery to me...

IMHO a person's time and energy is better spent when they are doing something for themselves, their loved ones or are engaged in charity. So I dont understand why these "fans" spend hours to get a glimse of their celebrity who doesnt even acknowledge them. Sorry but a smile and a wave or reading a letter is not acknowledgement. You can like a star without having to waste your time on them. They are getting paid to act and endorse products what do they fans get ? I am sure their time is worth more than a smile from their faves. Wouldnt that time be better invested on something else ?

I dont understand the whole temple building for Stars either.
Anyways to each their own.

I am crazy about some actors (Andy Samberg, Daniel Day Lewis, Viggo Mortenson) but I can say that I never have and never will freak out and lash out on people just because they say stuff like Andy Samberg's nose looks like a mountain or things like that. I really dont understand why fangirls go nuts and get so defensive that you can actually visualize hot steam coming out of their nose and ears with fury.

I am a critic and will continue to be one for the rest of my life, and if fangirls have an issue with that, then so be it. There's nothing wrong with being a fan, but really, don't lose your life over it and become Godzillas over non-fans because nobody really cares, especially not the celebrities.
