"Fear is faith that it won't work out." Unknown
Arpita has come home to meet with her mother; unable to hide her unhappiness anymore she cries in the room that saw all her dreams awaken and then fulfilled....After being urged, she opens her heart and admits her greatest fear...that she does not want to lose her husband...the fear that has taken a vise like hold on her heart and digging deeper and deeper as each day goes by....
Her father enters and taunts her, rubbing the sore spot in her heart till it starts bleeding...she leaves but not silently....her need to be back at the haveli more pressing than anything else though her father's words linger...
Arpita arrives just in time to see a battered and beaten Kanoo...visibily shaken she stares in horror, her nightmare coming alive. Avdesh's fierce countenance lends creed to the emotions raging inside her.....she watches as her husband promises retribution and other threats, guilt and self hurt evident for his percieved failure to his friend/fellow brother....she watched as bhauji calmed him down, to a point and calmly states the way to go about to extract their revenge.....All the while, Arpita is cemented down with fear itself...
"I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times, in life after life, in age after age forever". R. Tagore
Arpita run's after her husband, pleading him to stop and not go, she begs him but it all falls on deaf ears, she stops as he continues, her face anxious and frightened.... Avdesh storms to the front door, body straining with the force of his fury and anger heedless of his pleading wife...until a commanding voice orders him to stop. He does.
Bhauji slides a glance towards Arpita, they eyes meet and hold before bhauji walks upto Avdesh and shows her power over him.....Arpita remains locked within herself, understanding the game but her focus for the present is elsewhere. She walks back to her room, their wedding picture prominent, mocking and making a lie of the present and providing tantilising glimpse of utophia, if only she was brave enough....she looks in the mirror and see's her sindoor....beckoning and reminding her of her promise and duty to her patni..and herself. She gathers her courage in hand and silently leaves by the back door...
"If you press me to say why I loved him, I can say no more than because he was he, and I was I" Michel de Montaigne
Arpita arrives at the police station, uncaring and unknowing that she was being recognised...her energy was focused on one aim, everything else falling by the wayside....Officers recognised her immediately as the wife of Avdesh Singh Thakur and are amazed.... she walks in and quick looks and whispers follow her, however, her sights were set on the man who snowballed her own fears into reality....eventually she see's RV Singh and walks upto his office.....
RV is surprised to see her even more surprised to know that she is the wife of Avdesh Singh Thakur...he knew where she came from but not who she was, or so it seems.....
Precap: Arpita begging on her knees for her husband...all watched by Bhauji and panditji....
My thoughts:
This episode is driven by Arpita's fear. It took over as adrenaline spiked through her...she knew her husband and she had to be one step ahead of him. I think many are saying she is silly to act so hastily, and intially that was my thought as well. But no more.đ
We were shown from the begining her doubts and fears, all because she loves Avdesh deeply and passionately. She can face anything and everything for him...nothing is too much. He is her everything. Without him, she has nothing. More, she knows her morals, she knows where her husband's hurt and anger stems from and who incites him.... she wants to heal him, support him and bring him back to the path he strayed from....her love demands this of her, for both their sakes.
So we see her father taunting her, about how she was before and how she is now....this adds to the fear in her, not for herself but for the bleak future that could be theirs if she fails her husband....she goes home and it seem's her nightmare has come alive....she does what any wife would do - plead but he is too far gone.....she racks her brain and latches onto the man who started this living hell for her...he offers salvation, her pride is nothing if it would stop her husband from making a heinous mistake that will eat his soul up...it was up to her to be the voice of reason, for the person who should have been, is more keen in keeping her husband steeped in darkness and soul destroying actions...
So she goes to the police station, determined to do whatever necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of her husband, the love of her life. Nothing is too much, no cost too great....for her faith in her love and her god is strong and unshakeable.
She knows Avdesh will be angry but she is ready to face that....for when he is ready to move past the destructive emotions and actions he will see her action for what they were. An SOS to keep his soul intact....Avdesh knows, but lately he is burdened too much to think clearly, his vision blind...also he deserves some anger...his wife pleads and he cannot take a moment to reassure her?!...
My personal view is that today Arpita has moved on from the timid and uncertain girl she was...she is showing she too can take actions, go about quietly and do what she believes in....(like many married women faced with stubborn men)..in the face of it, it may seem stupid or impulsive but she is more interested in the long term goal....she is showing her inner strength, that she does not fear her husband.....in that respect they are equal....Off course she will have to do damage control because of her action, it remains to be seen how she does that. But she does not underestimate her husband's love for her......neither do I.
Whatever happens, her faith and love will remain strong in her Avdesh, she won't give up and that is more important than anything else because deep down Avdesh will cling onto that and use it as his lifeline when he needs it the most.
Bahubali has finally met his match. He just needs to understand that.đ
Now I would love to hear your thoughts on this.đ
