TB: So today, we have Soni Singh, the lovely actress who plays Madhu. You poor, poor thing.
SS<surprised>: Because I'm sitting here getting interviewed by you? <laughs>
TB: <gives her own little laugh, stops suddenly, squints eyes> NO. It's just that I don't think you've been given a fair shot in this role of "Hi, I'm Madhu, I'm from England, and I love to Shop". To be quite honest, many LTL fans were shocked at how your character was handled...they're used to insightful, colorful characterizations.
SS: Yes, I agree, Madhu has not been developed as much as I or the CVs would have liked. The timing has not worked out.
TB: I see. So what do you think of Madhu, because to be quite honest, she's a bit flippy...
SS: Flippy?
TB: Yah, FLIPPY! You know "bobblehead". <TB nods head left to right, elegantly of course>😆
Like those things people put on their car dashboards, and they shake and dance...
SS: Oh...you think?
TB: Well yeah. Don't you?
SS: I see Madhu a bit differently, because she was meant to be more than she has been shown to be....
TB: And that would be?
SS: A good sister, a positive influence, with a positive world-view...
TB: The only positive view the show has shown has been her positive attitude towards retail therapy...shopping does the heart good, though it did not help the poor DP...as does a partay!
SS <laughs>: I assure you, TeleBirdie, that's not what was intended. It was an odd transition. They needed Madhu to move the story along...
TB: You mean the Indian version of "Four weddings and a Funeral" ?
SS <smiles>: No! She was the only one who had a positive...
TB: YES, world view....got that. But Soni, come on, Madhu did come off "insensitive and flippy"...I mean with that ditz hair band on head, a day after a funeral, smiling happily and wanting her long-lost brother to marry PRONTO...not to mention "Naku, do you think the pink nailpolish looks good on me or the fuscia? Can you braid my hair, bhabhi? Do you wanna play dolls?" Oops, can't do that -- all the dolls don't have heads in the patil niwas---but then again, you could always re-enact the French Revolution. You get what I mean, right?
SS: <laughs>I can't argue there. We all felt a little weird about it...
TB: Arre, weird? Thank God it's only a show. If someone did something like that in real life, baap re baap, all their ancestors would pelt them with chappals..in that mandap. I get all "ghabraaman-y" when I think about it.
SS: You okay?
TB: I'm okay. Thank you Soni, dear. So, we hear Murli Sharma is coming back as get this, Anna's twin! <Tele-Birdie laughs loudly...notices Soni is not laughing, and gets back to professional mode>
TB: <giggles again> Can't get rid of these giggles...so PESKY.<stops, breathes, stops, breathes> Don't get me wrong, I love Murli...I mean not the same as MISHAL LOVE, but still. The man transformed Anna into vivid and vibrant character. He has that magic touch. But Anna's twin? <laughs again> I wonder if he has a wife too, like Anna! Subhu! OH NO!
SS: What happened?
TB: You're HER!
SS <alarmed>: Her? I don't understand....
TB: You ARE HER! Get it, your name even rhymes with hers....Ma-DHU, Su-BHU. Su-BHU Ma-DHU. It's too big a coincidence.
SS: No, I'm Dutta's sister.
TB: You're Dutta's sister AND you married his enemy's twin brother? That's not a GOOD sister.
SS: No, TeleBirdie, I assure you, I have nothing to do with Anna's twin....
TB: Chotta Anna?
SS: <laughs> Yes, nothing doing with Chotta Anna...really...
TB: I guess you are right...or maybe they can show your character shopping, ar usual, and running into Anna's twin and falling in love, and you bring him home to meet Big Boss, I mean Bhaiya...it's not like his Bodyguards will stop a man who looks exactly like Dutta's mortal enemy from entering the niwas...as we've seen..come one, come all to the PATIL CIRCUS! But leave the kiddies behind! Doll-beheadings, all that gussa...not a "G-rated" , Toy-Story-ish environment, if you know what I mean.
SS: Stop, TeleBirdie, you're being too mean...
TB: No, I was just trying to help the CVs out....you know, we here love our Mishal....got to keep his face on the screen.😆Even though he doesn't love us back....😭
SS: No....<tries to console TB> It's not like that...he's so busy...
