Low TRPs and a storyline gone haywire forces Millee off air

Star Plus' prime time show Millee joins the list of big shows going off air this season. Rumours about this major change in plan started doing the rounds only recently. The show that supposedly got an extension for a year was said to be in dire straits.

To begin with, Millee lost steam when it deviated from its original story line. What was meant to be a love story between Rahul and Millee, became anything but that, especially when Rahul, (Ajay Gehi) left the show. As a result the show's viewership took a drastic nose-dive.

The channel and producers realised that the TRPs of the show were dipping. An overnight decision was taken to mend the damages by taking Millee off the air. This was the only step as the show's one year contract with the channel was up anyway. Apparently that's when Raman Kumar stepped in and asked Star Plus for an extension. "Contrary to speculations, Millee hasn't received a year's extension. The show has only a month and-a-half left. It has to wrap up in that much time," says Shailja Kejriwal, programming head, Star Plus.
