Kind of reminds me of a desi version of Heathcliff from Wuthuring Heights. Rough, full of testosterone, angry, aggressive, brutal but full of passion and love. I think he was a well thought out character EXCEPT for the fact he slapped both Pihu and Gauri. I think the fact he has a sense of humor and some wit along with the intensity he feels about his relationships with others, makes him all the more appealing. Now, in real life would I date someone like him, heck NO. He is too high maintenance, but the fact he is played by Iqbal Khan makes it tough.
I think we need to have our Gauri admit that she is attracted to him. His wildness and unpredictability is addictive yet at the same time very exhausting. But she's willing to jump in that relationship and she's a feisty young one to say the least. Let us hope the writers will keep the passion and anger of Rudra without the slapping of women and end this practice completey.

I wont deny Laila, despite being rude and ruthless he is complete adorable person , yes i dont like the slapping either , and they had balanced him very well, not a saint and neither is a devil , one who can go to any level for loved ones , and at same time one who can go to any level to destroy same ones

Its hard to hate him , even if we hate him for some of his actions ,

Any gal will get attracted to this kind of guys ,

Laila, I know you are a fan of IQ but my post is about Rudr's character.
I would not compare Rudr to Heathcliff. Heathcliff was a dark, dark, tormented character, scary in fact to all except Catherine, who was the only one who could "handle" him.
Yes, Rudr is tormented as well because what he thought was the love of his life, Pihu, acted in ways that left him shattered. But he does not come across dark like Heathcliff. Rudr's character comes across a bit confusing and also confused to me. He has his lucid moments and makes sense in the story but when it is interspersed with his drunken state, it confuses the heck out of me. His lucid moments are few. He is made to hate and love/like and listen/ignore other characters at the whim and fancy of the writers to fit the story. It totally muddles his character.
BTW, the practice of slapping was rampant in CB and can only be concluded as preferred practice with this PH. It will not end any time soon. Count on it...

I agree with how you described Rudr - I will add lonely with a huge void in his heart to this list.
Totally agree on the bold too😆, but I love these kind of characters in stories. My deal is, what I want in real life is totally opposite to what I like to read in stories and watch in shows - wierd😆

on bold totally true. Will do anything for the ones he loves and will go to any level to destroy the ones who hurt him. Love with a passion and hate with a passion kind of person.

Rach, I would have married Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice had I found him in real life in a flash! No questions asked! Colin Firth playing Mr. Darcy comes close, but alas! he is married with a family! 😆😉

@gardes - Collin Firth is one of my favorites, loved him in Bridget Jones diary. But I have not watched his Pride and Prejudice, have watched so many other versions but not this one. Darcy is another one of my fav characters, but again not in real life😆.

Oh Rach, you will miss out on so much if you spurn my Mr. Da'hcy. 😭
Seriously though, if you like P & P and CF, the best version is the BBC 6 hr. version with Colin Firth. He was brought in for BJD because the writer and the producer were big fans of CF in P & P.
If you can find the BBC version in your local library or video store, I assure you you will fall in love with Darcy and CF all over again!
Sorry Laila, did not mean to take attention away from your MIK and hence Rudr. 😳

Grades, I might be a fan of IQ but I can take any criticism. I don't own the guy, I just think he's cute and s*xy with one heck of a voice, body and those piercing eyes full of passion. 😉
I do like her analysis of Rudra and think you've got him down better than me. From what I see there is definetely room for improvement and it would have been more appealing if there was that darkness that you talk about. Yes, I do agree, his drunkeness interpersed with those lucid moments really do through me of as viewer and that is the sign of some pretty terrible writing.
Slapping on CB? Please do not tell me that Dev slapped Radika!
