How could you have made Suhana love Ishaan?

If you were one of the family members of Suhana and Ishaan, and you found out that Suhana Ishaan haven't quite clicked yet with each other - how would you help them click?

For some reason this whole jealousy thing isn't sticking well with me.

But really, how else could you make them fall in love?

The jealousy angle in this show is being really pathetically handled. 👎🏼

If it was up to me, I would have built up on the momentum after Sid's revelation....that should have been a turning point in the IS relationship and Suhana should have started to view Ishaan in a new light....started to see how much he cares....softened a bit more towards him....she did grow to care more about him subconsciously but they didn't build up on that very much and instead wasted away many possible poignancy opportunities in over the top comedy such as the scooter scenes which also undermined Ishaan's character a lot. I would have made sure that Ishaan's character never came across as a CHAMPU even if he's a bhola, seedha sa guy.....I would have shown more evolution to his character with the way he would tease Suhana slyly from time to time....and not act like a ghonchu. I would have never made him act like a permanent dukhiyari bechara and would have shown him as an intelligent guy capable of holding his own without shouting and jumping around in a hyper fashion like a 5 year old.

And if at all a third person had to be introduced, I wouldn't make THAT the only reason that Suhana "falls in love" with Ishaan.....that is so pathetically cliched in my opinion.....how can a person like Suhana who till now has dismissed Ishaan as a loser suddenly fall for him just cuz Sona is being so over the top "friendly" with Ishaan.....doesn't really look convincing to me.

It is quite sad that they've gone astray with the handling of the IS relationship cuz this was a story and a relationship that was quite unique and had a lotttttt of potential which has now sadly been squandered.

WORD to everything Anu has said. The jealousy angle is the ONLY reason I've completely lost interest in this show. Although the show was going astray after the Sid's revelation, I was holding on in hopes of seeing some groW*H in Ishaan and Suhana's relationship.

Anyhoo, mostly like Anu said, as a writer, I would've focused on the evolution of Ishaan and Suhana's relationship. Suhana had come to unconsciously care for Ishaan after the Sid debacle. She should've seen more facets of Ishaan's character - like his simplicity, his joviality, his ability to make her smile, his sly teasing, and at times even his vulnerability. Instead of making fun of him, I would've liked to see Suhana truly care for him, his needs and gradually realize her growing dependence on him.

As a melodramatic writer, I would've woven a situation wherein there is an apparent danger to Ishaan's life - not even directly, but even just a news that there was an unfortunate situation (inclement weather, extremist attack, building collapsing, accident etc) someplace where Ishaan was supposed to be. Suhana is worried sick at just the thought of her life without ever seeing him again and then realizing how much he means to her.

As a less melodramatic family member, I would do what Badi Maa has done in the past - constantly reinforce to Suhana the gravity of her relationship with Ishaan by reiterating Ishaan's strengths, narrating anecdotes, and even sharing personal experiences.

If the third angle, Sona, HAD to be introduced, it would be only AFTER Suhana's realization that Ishaan meant more to her than just a friend. In my story, Sona wouldn't come in give Suhana a dose of her own medicine or even make her insecure of her position in the house, but to make Suhana so benevolent in her love for Ishaan that she would be ready to sacrifice her own happiness. I would SO love to see Badi Maa's plan backfire and Suhana ready to leave the house JUST because she genuinely believes that Ishaan and Sona are in love, only to find out later on that it is not so. Pretty much a deja vu of what happened with Sid, except this time it's a misunderstanding from Suhana's side. i.e. Ishaan has no affection for Sona/every awkward situation is circumstantial.

I am so not buying the jealousy track.

Oooh LadyM! Finally someone else replied to this post other than me....LOL.....otherwise everyone is busy doing gun-gaan of SGP in general in this forum to bother with discussing how DRASTICALLY they've gone wrong with IS. 🤔

Very well said👏 Word to everything you said....the story could have been developed so beautifully *sigh*....aaj I was aevein watching this random IS scene from my account and lamenting at the lost potential again....this was Ishaan-Suhana's essence in a nutshell....Suhana being a tubelight yet still trying....still watching out for him in her own way and Ishaan being exasperated with her but not in a loud CHAMPU like fashion

Sadly we never got any significant/evolving groW*H in Suhana's caring feelings for Ishaan....ab toh it's stagnant....she's just a cartoon for everyone to get laughs out of and Ishaan to act hyper around *rolls eyes*

Ofcourse I had to reply Anu. There are so many scenes between them that made me wanna root for a simple guy hooking with up a chic girl and how and why their love story would develop. I wanted to see a winner in Ishaan - for him to shine through amidst all the superficiality that exists in the world. Instead we got to see an inconsistent, simpleton who sometimes behaves like a kid high on candy. I also wanted to see a pert, uptight, society girl with a heart of gold in Suhana - to fall for a simple guy like Ishaan. Instead we get to see her as an object of everyone's jokes.

I would've even liked Ishaan to take up a job assignment in another part of the country just to stay away from Suhana for sometime, while she gets to understand how much his pampering, his attention and even his mere presence means to her. They could've shown it so subtly Anu ... it truly pains me that there is an overall need to go OTT these days to prove a point.

I definately agree with what has been said already. I would've also started thier love story after the Sid incident, as it is very rare to find a husand like Ishaan would support and comfort her in her vulnerable state after finding out the truth. How melancholic was she and how wonderful was he??He took care of her emotions beautifully and she did start to feel for him then but then the creatives decided to make them look like cartoons as we were only given glimps of those moments with no real continuity. Those poignant and valuable Sushaan moments came and went without any trace, without any meaninig which was stupid of the writers. I mean if there's no follow-up to the scene why make them in the first place. For example when Sushaan were in the taxi and Suhana was talking about how she didn't enjoy her own wedding, Ishaan said "phir se shaadi karle"?? I would've loved to have seen her actual reaction to that and yes that would have been great. Sushaan coming together and having another celebration because Suhana wants to enjoy them for real. It would have been soooo meaningful and romantic. The creatives have a unique advantage over any other serials because they can really look at OBS and create according what was good, or not so good. Why don't they take advantage of that????😡That is sad part, they should have been on a honeymoon by now.

I actually agree with the jealousy track. Suhana is a tubelight and takes a while to understand things - she usually takes things at face value, and this characteristic will not change overnight. Ishaan has supported her at every stage, Suhana knows his schedule well, and cares enough to lay out his clothes. She only asks Ishaan to do things for her, nobody else in the house, clearly she is more comfortable with him and has developed a friendship. She even cared enough to bring him back his scooter.

However, knowing Suhana, she does not associate her actions with love. In her mind, she can't love someone like Ishaan despite what she feels inside. She needs someone to make her feel jealous, to make her see another side of Ishaan, so that she can become more open to him and loving him. Sona over-reacts and understands Ishaan too much which is irritating, but it is good for Suhana - if she sees someone else appreciate Ishaan's good points, she will see that side of him too. Ishaan's entire family makes fun of him so Suhana sees him from their eyes as well. It is time to see another side. Suhana has always shared her feelings with Ishaan, but Ishaan has never shared his feelings with her. She really doesn't know him.

loved sona's expressions when suhana told her that she chose ishaan not ishaan choose her ,sona was so surprised to see that if a wife can talk in such a way in front of her husband's friend, suhana must learn all the lessons that sona will make her to learn, she must be heart and deserved to be go through a lot of pain as a reward of her misbehavior to ishaan many times and even yesterday when she insult ishaan by quoting that she chose ishaan ,it infer that ishaan got her mercy otherwise agar ye devi ji usko choose nahi karti toh uski toh shadi hi nahi hoti, suhana ko in batoon ka kuch to sabak milna chaiye and i will believe sona will teach her all lesson, now i m confirmed that this jealousy track was much needed in her realization ,wo kehte hai naa ki laton ke bhoot batoon se nahi mante. I m loving this much needed track.

Otherwise suhana jaise
character toh bhagwan ke samjhane pe bhi nahi samjhte aur apne proud mein hi khoya rahe ,ok,aise bando ko koi nahi samjha sakta , na badi maa aur na ishaan, she must be taught practically and must be go through a lot of emotional pain, TIT for TAT

@bold: WORD *sigh*.....such wasted potential....this show is drowning in OTT-ness these days....especially vis a vis Ishaan-Suhana......oh well....kya keh sakte hain....THIS is getting them high TRPs😕😆.....I love how at the very moment when in my opinion most shows start to tank, THAT'S when the TRPs spike😆....but it never lasts....if this is how they are going to give a 'culmination/peak' to the IS "love story", then they might as well write them out of the show and focus on the rest of the characters instead.....

@Anu that was indeed a good scene, sadly such nice moments were never expanded on....they had several oppurtunities, like for instance when Radha bua is getting ready to go see Deepak, Ishaan tells her to regard Deepak as Ishaan and shower him with all her love, that scene truly showed Ishaan's selflessness, while they showed Badi-Ma and Rano's reaction, I thought they could have shown suhaana's reacting to that as well, since these were the instances that could have has some impact.. @LadyM, you have made really good points, I was also thinking they could have shown something like Ishaan going away from home and suhaana missing his presence or something like that...however, I do you still think it would have been enough to make suhaana acknowledge her feelings? I think it is necessary for her to step out of her ego and really see Ishaan, but I don't really endorse what this "Miss-know-all-about-Ishaan" sona is trying to do either, there is just too much of Ishaan jhaap from her, that she seems to force suhaana into thinking about Ishaan 😕, I liked the scene yesterday where suhaana retorts back to her "why do you always credit Ishaan, usne toh mujhe choose bhi nahin kiya?" 😆, well done suhaana👏...so, in a way this track is backfiring for me, cos the characterisation of sona is a little weak, I am not able to connect to what she is doing and the acting isn't helping much...
