Star Plus is the numero uno in the Hindi entertainment space but it was Colors that walked away with the maximum awards at the 10th Annual Awards which were held on October 31 in Mumbai.

Hosted by Anu and Shashi Ranjan, the show was anchored by RJ Mantra and Manish Paul. While Mantra played humorous with all his funny pick-up lines, Manish on the other hand pulled up various avatars and proved entertaining by getting into the shoes of Bappi Lahiri and Sunny Deol.

The event had grand performances by various artists including child stars like Aayush, Sparsh and Vaishnavi. Angad Hasija, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Hina Khan, Ragini Khanna, Aamir Ali, Sushant Singh Rajput, Gaurav Gera and many others also performed.

Winners were announced soon after an opening act and music maestros of B-town, Shankar-Ehsaan - Loy took away the award for the best title-track of Rang Badalti Odhani which airs on Star One. Shankar Mahadevan also bagged in the award for the best singer for the same song.

From among the actors, Jai Sony bagged the Best Actor (Drama) Jury award for his role in Sasural Genda Phool and Sushant Singh Rajput took away the Best Actor (Popular) award for Pavitra Rishta. Surekha Sikri bagged in the Best Actress (Drama) Jury award for Balika Vadhu while Rashmi Desai took away the Best Actress (Popular) award for Uttaran. For their comic stints, actor Rohitashv Gaur from Lapataganj and actress Kavita Kaushik from FIR received the Best Actor and Actress (Comedy) Jury award respectively. For their negative roles, actor Anupam Shyam for Man Ki Awaaz. Pratigya and actress Meghna Malik for Na Aana Iss Des Lado won. And for their supporting roles, actor Ayub Khan for Uttaran and actress Supriya Pilgaonkar won. Avika Gor won the Best Child Artiste award.

Actors from the Bollywood fraternity took away the cream for the anchoring talent, Amitabh Bachchan was announced as the Best Anchor - Chat Show for Bigg Boss 3, while Shahid Kapur received the Best Anchor award - news/current affair show for hosting Star-Screen awards and Rajeev Khandelwal was awarded Best Anchor - Game/Quiz show for Sach Ka Saamna. Neither Bachchan or Khandelwal nor their teams had come to receive the award.

Star Plus received the Best Entertainment Channel award, Zoom TV received the Best Entertainment and Lifestyle channel while in the news and current affairs category Aaj Tak took away the Best Hindi News Channel award and CNN-IBN won the Best English News Channel award.

In order to honour the winners of the Common Wealth Games, ITA announced The ITA Special Achiever 2010 award for the CWG gold medalists. Ashwini Ponappa, Jwala Gutta, Harpreet Singh, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Anisa Sayyad, Suranjoy Singh and Manoj Kumar were honored in presence of the veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha.

Present in a black short off-shoulder dress was Deepika Padukone along with Kunal Kohli, who had come to promote their upcoming movie Break Ke Baad. When asked about her favourite TV show, the charming lady in black, Deepika quipped that she used to watch Balika Vadhu a lot.

The 10th ITA annual awards will be aired on November 21 at 8 pm on Star Plus.
