Maithili it was. That lovely kind-faced girl whose picture lies with Abhay. One of the' no' sorry, the most important phase and the most important person in Abhay's life. He sure has loved her once upon a time with indelible passion and devotion.. it shows. It showed in the way he possessively covered Maithli's name the second his father said that how Piya was a mirror image of Maithli' and no, Abhay is different from his breed' he feels. And whatever he feels , he feels it very strongly. The agony that he feels for his lost mysterious love tale with Maithli ' the immense and rather scary surface hatred that he harbours for Piya ' Yes, Abhay is vulnerable and nobody knows it better than his Mom and Dad. Especially Abhay's Mom. You can see the fear in her eyes ' almost as if she is already sensing losing her son to that 'face' all over again' this time in the garb of Piya.
And poor poor Piya. As if the misunderstanding with Mishoo wasn't enough , Abhay made sure that her birthday got ruined. And of course , more than making her angry , it hurt her that Abhay hates her enough to make her Piya Miserable Jaiswal. It is not just anger ' there is a certain amount of emotional hurt involved as well. I mean, we know what she thinks of Abhay deep down and it showed in her drunken cute blabber to Abhay yesterday. But he refuses to be a hero or an angel and I think that innocent view of Abhay through Piya's eyes only got him angrier'..Abhay is becoming fixated with Piya and he cannot handle it ' you could see it in his disturbed and aggressive reaction to Piya's visit at his house. The birthday cake and Piya's feisty retort attack infuriated him enough to think that he could actually give Piya the honour of being the first human victim of his fangs.
And the concern that Abhay's parents have is understandable. Abhay might be the strongest but he is equally vulnerable . He has been through the Maithli saga and his parents know that Abhay can be lost again to a forbidden love story ' Abhay should not hate Piya. As per the folks, he should feel nothing'. But he is. Piya moves the man inside the monster and if this doesn't stop , I don't think his Mom-Dad will be able to control him for long and that spells'. Beginning of a dark love story.
The situation is very complicated right now for Abhay and perhaps it is the worst for him' - Maithli's agony , entry of Piya and his connection with her , realization that a beating heart may reside behind those cold intense eyes. Piya , on the other hand, is drawn to Abhay like a firefly , otherwise I don't see somebody like her have the guts to barge into her enemy's house with a birthday cake and be a big show off about it'. It is like forces of nature , forces of ego , forces of the heart all working together.
Abhay-Piya are definitely not your ideal love story but they are definitely a love story you would like to see to know if at all fire and firefly can ever belong together'.
