This turned out to be a washout Wednesday all the way round. For starters the episodes have been a filler for two days in a row!

Jai Mathur rushes to the jeep and wipes off the blood on Komal's forehead after she raises her head off the steering wheel. Komal's eyes sparkle with tears as she looks at Jai tending to her bleeding wound with care. Oh, you poor girl! You are craving for attention, affection and love from your husband. Adarsh He is either holding back until you behave in a way acceptable to him or is plain incapable of being a husband you rightfully deserve. You are moved to tears with the little attention and care from the very brat you wanted to run down with your jeep. Did that look spark a connection between you and Jai just now? You maybe a married woman who has every right to annul her marriage now. Adarsh chose to marry you to protect his sister's marriage. Today Prats is happy wtih Krishna yet he refuses to treat you like a wife. You probably did marry a budda. Give him an ultimatum like Krishna gave Prats. Enough is enough! Ask him to be a man, do the right thing and treat you like a wife or tell him "adios Senor" and move on to find someone who admires and values you the way you deserve to be.

Krishna enters the Niwas with shopping bags in hand and announces his arrival to the family. SS is surprised that Baba has been on an unlikely shopping spree for Diwali this year. SDS is thrilled Baba has bought clothes for the whole family and wants to know what he's bought for her. Baba douses Takurain's dreams "why would I buy you anything. Bauji will do it. I bought all this for Prats". Takurain flashes fiery eyes at Prats jealousy burning in them. If looks could kill Prats would be charred about now. KN is smiling tickled by Krishna's excited chatter. Baba animatedly shows the family every jewel and saree he has brought Prats while adding his own commentary about how they would enhance her beauty when she wore them. SS asks if Baba has deep pockets given the expensive spending spree he has been on. Krishna very innocently explains he has billed it all to his bauji's account. Her nostrils flaring like a snorting bull, a jealous Takurain asks if Baba's sasural has footed his hefty bill. Krishna explains it's Prats's first Diwali since their wedding so he wants to make it a grand celebration for her. Krishna you are so wrapped up in making everything you do for Prats extra special that you completely tune any anti-sentiments coming toward you and Prats from your family. It is an admirable trait that you don't let anyone rain on your parade in making this Diwali a joyous occasion for Prats. But then you have always been a carefree live in the moment kinda guy.

At Mumfordgunj, the Saxes are in the middle of another pareshaan conference. Shamu consults Nainaji and decides to call Takurs to ask if Komal has been there. But the matriarch of the family, Dadi adds her two paise worth and warns Shamu that SS will place the blame on their doorstep for his daughter taking off without notice to anyone a ther sasural. They are still trying to figure out their next move and about her whereabouts when Komal walks in. She faces their barrage of questions in silence and leaves the room without a word. Now that's a first for firecracker Komal. That worries the Saxes, not that they ever need a reason to worry.

Krishna tells Prats not to douse his desire to bestow all the lovely gifts he has brought her for Diwali. It doesn't disturb him to know his family are offensive to him, he just tunes them out as he believes that they have the disease of saying things. Prats tells him it bothers her when the family say offensive things to and about him. It pleases Krishna to know that Prats cares a lot about what others have to say about him. Baba will go with any excuse to get cozy with Prats. He seems to enjoy prolonging the honeymoon phase.

Adarsh meets Komal in their room and wants to know how she got hurt. Komal says it her destiny that's blown up in her face. Adarsh is agitated and demands answers about her whereabouts when she had been out. Komal reveals she went to kill Jai. She wanted to hurt him but she just couldn't. She tearfully admits "I can't be at peace unless I hurt him. Adarsh tells her to forget all of it. Komal continues "I don't know why I couldn't hurt him. If I had then it'll all be over but I couldn't do it". Maybe you felt a twinge of connection to this teenage brat? Or had the months of living with the Saxes tamed Komal in ways she never expected? The Takur's thirst for revenge has toned down a bit. But knowing Komal it could be a temporary phase and the wrong trigger could send her back to her old ways. Only time will tell if she is reforming slowly but surely like Krishna who also has his bad days of revisiting past behavior at the most unexpected moment. Adarsh may have to take some notes from Prats on how to handle the Takur siblings.

Arushi wonders aloud why her fiance Aman hasn't called. She thinks aloud "Maybe he is busy. I'll call him and find out." Yep. Arushi! Amorous Aman is busy two-timing you with another chick in his bed and here you are weaving a fantasy that he is all yours. All those castles you have been building in the air are about to go poof in the blink of an eye. Two-timing Aman cuts off her calls and turns to the woman sharing his bed, smiles and kisses her on the forehead. Then he lies back to reflect on how best to get away with his two-faced existence. BTW, aren't any of the Mathurs wondering why he didn't return home for the night or maybe even show up at the dinner table? Not that a grown man needs to punch in the clock every time he leaves and returns home. But the IG's home seems to be working with a different set of rules. Gaurav is the only one who seems to suspect or knows about his brother's duyi-duyi love life. Looks like Mummy and Papa Mathur are destined for public embarrassment due to their three sons. One down, two to go! Will the IG even hear about it or will the slick lawyer find a way to quash the evidence against him and continue with his double life?

Arushi is drawing a rangoli by the entry to their house and her parents praise her for it. Komal wants to learn how to draw the rangoli too. You poor girl, for all your attempts to fit into this dull family, the Saxes never seem to appreciate your efforts. What will it take for them to show you a little care and affection they show each other?A family of educated fools who could learn a thing or two about real life.

Prof. makes his big announcement to his family out of the blue. Drumroll please! Dumb da dumb dumb dumb da dumb dumb ''. "We are all going to Pratigya's house for Diwali this evening". Huh? Psssst! Prof. saheb! don't let Takurji hear you call it Prats's house while he is still around. You never know what he'll do given his criminal past. "We can't invite them to the wedding, at least by visiting them during Diwali some of their complaints for not inviting them to the wedding will go away". Beaming signal to Prof. Shamu! Which planet do you live on Mr.Saxena? You are the Professor, the educated one of them all. Yet dumb choices and moves seem to be your speciality. You are a walking book of ideals and principles. You recall them with ease from your memory bank yet when it comes to applying them you behave like a lost soul reading a foreign language for the first time. Where are your so-called principles that you lecture to your children about? You have been a weak and meek father from day one. You hid the eve-teasing from the family That culminated in several frightening situations for you and your family. Angad was on a tear to terrorize you and your daughters repeatedly. You showed no gratitude towards your damadh Krishna for his efforts to defend and protect your family. Why? Bec' he lacks a certificate to prove he had a formal education? You took the law into your own hands and had a hand in Angad's demise. You forced Prats to keep secrets from her Krishna when their marriage was already on shaky ground which led to terrible set of events that she and Krishna had to live through all bec' of your brilliant choice. You lied to Krishna to his face in jail and justified your choices born out of fear, worry and insecurity. What good is your education if you can't apply it in real life? What happened to the wonderful poem you memorized and recited to Prats but failed to comprehend yourself? We are yet to see you apply your idealistic preachings in your real life.

Prof., are you a magnet for punishment or what? The Takurs forcibly painted your face with coal. You didn't have the guts to stand up to them. You took it out on Komal and held her responsible for her parents' action when she lived under your roof . Yet when the Takurs take it out on Prats for your stupidity you tremble and shiver like a coward instead of standing up to your own beliefs. You depend on Krishna to protect and defend your daughter. Yet you don't bat an eyelid when Adarsh treats Komal poorly in your presence. You refused to show up at the Niwas for Krishna's budday until Nainaji convinced you to go along for Prats's sake. You overheard KN talking crap about Arushi and rather than confront him to his face you ran away from there with your tail tucked between your legs. Yet the next time you came to visit the Takurs you hesitated to enter their domain for fear of facing them. They have repeatedly insulted you openly, sarcastically, they have taunted and terrorized you yet you haven't stood up to them once. Their daughter is your bahu yet they are the ones calling the shots at every encounter. You have yet to stand up to the Takurs in a meaningful way to this day. They embarrassed you when you went to invite them for Arushi's engagement. Your recent visit to the Niwas to tell them to their face that they were not invited to Arushi's wedding was the stupidest move of them all, and it didn't just end there. Your made a brilliant move and extended an exclusive invitation for Prats to attend the wedding alone for the pleasure of your family. You heard a earful from your damadh in the presence of his family and Prats added her two bits by saying no thank you to your special invitation. You are a personification of cowardice and all the education in the world has left you a helpless man with no courage to fight back. Your reason that Prats will be treated poorly at the Takurs holds no water, for Krishna always protects her. The Takurs have your number and they are the ones calling the shots every single time. Your daughter and bahu are more daring than you have ever been. You think you've had it rough since Prats and Adarsh got married into a junglee family. You ain't seen nothing yet. The best (or the worst, based on where you stand) is yet to come when Arushi ties the knot with Aman, the two-timing tow-faced lawyer who is leading you and your family by the nose and taking you for a ride. You have been blinded by the need for education so much so that you have failed to apply all those years of education in your life. Will Arushi's marriage finally wake you up to your own erroneous ways and prejudices? We shall see if you will finally face up to the reality of life.

At the Niwas Prats is drawing a rangoli on the floor and Ganti Dadi appreciates her handiwork. Kesar is happy, feels the festive atmosphere and offers to help. Krishna comes out calling for Prats and stops surprised when he sees the colorful rangoli on the floor. Krishna wants to learn to draw a rangoli. Amazements never cease! Maybe Baba doesn't know what to do with all that idle time on his hands when he is not tied to Prats's pallu. Prats, give them some ideas to engage his time productively. Prats tells him "stop behaving like a child and shower first if he wants to learn, for the festival is a celebration of purity. "If I remain a child then I get love all my life. God looks at your heart and feelings not whether you showered or not." Now that explains why you refuse to grow up. Sooner or later you are going to be forced to grow up and take responsibility for your own life. Baba, you can live your life on your terms if only you decide to take the first step forward. For all your talk about being a sher, a courageous mard you are behaving like a man refusing to grow up bec' it terrifies you to venture into the real world for which you are ill prepared. Take a few baby steps and before you know it you will take the bull by the horns and regain your self-confidence to be an independent man who is capable of supporting and taking care of his own family. You are never one to take orders from SS like KN. So blaze your own trail and get on with your life. Now that you have Prats's love you know she will stand by you every step of the way. So get started, the New Year is upon you, get off to a fresh start into your future.

Just then SS and Takurain return from their own shopping spree and stop short when they see the rangoli on the floor. Takurain queries "Who's made a mess on the floor with all this color powder?" Yo, Takurain, in your case ignorance is not bliss. You can't tell the difference between a work of art and a pile of color powders? Krishna haltingly explains "it's rangoli and she is beautifying your home". SS counters "if she makes the house beautiful what happens to the family tradition of gathering here to play our games of dice and cards every Diwali?" Y'day Baba was ready to shower Prats with buckets full of love. Today Takurain brought a bucketful of water and with sadistic pleasure doused the work of art in a millisecond catching all of them unawares. That's Takurain's payback from earlier in the day when Krishna told her he had brought her no gifts for Diwali. As far as she is concerned it's an eye for an eye to settle the score. She still has to make sure she can win her Baba back so all paybacks are directed at Prats. Takurji aur Takurain, psst''.listen up. "A thing of beauty is a joy forever". It's not too late to learn to appreciate the simple beauty in little things. SS, SDS and Piasiya are the only ones enjoying this gatiya act. SDS even strikes a haughty regal pose to show her sadistic pleasure. It takes no time to destroy something in the blink of an eye but takes a while to create anything. Takurji saheb you live in a Niwas you brag about. How come you couldn't find another place for your game of dice and cards? Takurain, you are going to spend your Diwali in the doghouse. Your jealousy knows no bounds. The more you spew your hatred and jealousy on Prats the more you alienate your Baba. You keep this up he is going to walk out on you for good. What kind of a mother can be so cruel and vicious that she looks for every opportunity to destroy that very thing or person that brings him joy? That green eyed-monster in you is driving your son away from you. Act in haste now, you are going to repent in your budahoo days. Having done their part to destroy Prats's creative efforts and ruining the festive mood SS and Takurain walk away. Piasiya is left to clean up the mess. Remember you two terrible Takurs, what goes around will come around. Your comeuppance is long overdue for all the criminal acts you have done knowingly let alone the inadvertent ones.

Loved what you wrote about our infamous Guru Ji. 😆

I tell you, Guru jee fried his brain's logical gate while over burning it with the bookish data. 😆 You can educate a fool but you cannot make him think! What a poor use of resources, and inept skill at problem solving – Sax is an educated fool. There is really no cure for his 'Oh Poor, Pitiful Me Syndrome' He doesn't recognize it and let it take him to that dark place where nothing's right. He is just beating himself up for having made bad choices, instead to learn from those mistakes. He is a hopeless case. 😡

It is not uncommon for men to play cards for fun on Deepavali day while women entertain guests and go visiting families and friends with sweets. Will Krishna play cards with his father or start his own custom after marriage, something he does with Prats. Will the Mathurs enounter Takurs and Saxes? Will they have a problem with Saxes socializing with Takurs and make that an issue?

I guess Shamu wants his next round of Prasad (a tongue lashing, snide insults) from the Takurs. Even he can only take so much of a dull life at home day in and day out. Other than bringing him water and chai or serving nashtha Nainaji has nothing else to do. Dadi is a permanent fixture on that cot and her only jaunts are to Adarsh's room these days. In the days before Prats's wedding we have seen her venture into the kitchen a few times.

Takurain is already seething with rage and jealousy, is Shamu looking for another tongue lashing from her to make his day?
