Needs help in the shower? 🤣 That's a good one 😆 Nikki. But I don't think that kind of scene would be allowed on the forum 😳...no way I could keep that General Audience rated 😛 And yes Sanjana is actually making some sense for once 😲 Thanks unreserving 😃

Chapter 50: Rainy Season - Part B

Heer gently stirred underneath the covers of the king sized bed and rolled to her side. Her eyes slowly cracked open as her body felt oddly refreshed and awake. She glanced at the alarm clock and saw that it was 12:30am. She swallowed lightly noticing her parched throat and gingerly got out of bed to go to the kitchen to get a glass of water. She was expecting Prem to be sleeping in the living room but he was nowhere in sight. She wondered as she stood in the kitchen drinking if he was possibly sleeping in the office. She silently made her way to the room and found it empty. She sighed realizing he was probably still at the party. She frowned at little that she had to leave in the middle when she suddenly developed a huge headache. Thankfully the contracts had been signed at the beginning and the clients were extremely pleased with the work that she and Prem had done. Prem insisted that she go home and rest when he found out she had a headache but she knew it would look extremely unprofessional in front of the clients. But somehow during the course of the night they found out and were extremely understanding. The wife suffered from migraines and knew how it could be and insisted she go home and take some rest. She gave her some ibuprofen and called their driver to send her back to the hotel.

Heer was feeling a little hungry and went back to the kitchen to see if there was anything to eat. All she found were the water bottles they had taken from the plane and a couple of packets of peanuts. She checked the hotel basket and frowned that it just contained chips and cookies. She wanted something real to eat. Heer went over to check if by some miracle of a chance the hotel room service was still open. She smiled as she saw the afterhour's menu stating room service would be open until 2:00am. She quickly perused the menu and decided to order herself a bowl of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich.

About an hour later Heer's finished bowl and plate lay on the kitchen counter while she sat on the couch flipping through the TV channels trying to find something good to watch. She gave up after she hit the fifth late night TV advertisement about the amazing "Ginzu Chef Knife". She groaned as she turned the television off and gently tossed the remote to the side of her on the couch. She glanced at the doorway wondering what was taking Prem so long to come home. She stretched her back as she got up and decided she would listen to some music. Heer plugged her iPod into the speaker dock and pressed play on her current playlist. She then sat back down on the couch flipping through her magazine and located some of the articles she didn't get a chance to read during the plane ride. After finishing up the articles she gave a tired yawned and checked her cell phone noting it was now 2am and Prem still wasn't home. She frowned a little and decided to call him. She waited patiently on the phone and when she heard his voicemail pick up she left him a brief message, "It's Heer. The time is 2am. Where are you? Call me when you get his message."

She sighed to herself and got up from the couch heading towards the balcony to take in some fresh air and to gaze at the night sky. She could see the moon shining brightly despite how dark the sky seemed to be getting as distant rain clouds slowly rolled in from afar. She was surprised that it hadn't rained earlier in the night. The heavy cumulus clouds had hung about in the sky when they went to the venue but they refused to show their true nature as if waiting for something to awaken their stormy form. Heer's ears perked suddenly to the synthesizing dance beat beginning to echo around the living room. A small smiled danced across her lips as she recognized the song. She gently leaned on the doorway and stared up at the sky letting the music tell its tale. (Tere Liye - Dance Remix Version from the movie Prince sung by Shreya Ghoshal & Atif Aslam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbvezbo_hrk&feature=related I recommend listening to the song as you read...though the song finishes up before the end of what I wrote. But if you don't want to I provided the lyrics and for you. Credits to Bollywoodtadka.com for lyrics. Translation credits to my friend Nisha.)

Jaagi jaagi soyi na main saari raat, tere liye
[I was awake and didn't sleep the whole night waiting for you]
Bheegi bheegi palkein meri udaas, tere liye
[Tears are flowing from my eyes for you]

Heer sighed as she continued to watch the moon fight against the dark clouds that were gliding forward threatening to overtake its space and cover the night sky in total darkness. She felt an extreme sense of loneliness as she leaned against the door frame. Her heart was heavy from the way things were going in her life. She never imagined she would be in the situation that she was in now and the problems in her life that seemed so simple to fix were becoming complicated and never ending. She knew some of them she had caused herself.

Jaagi jaagi soyi na main saari raat, tere liye
[I was awake and didn't sleep the whole night waiting for you]
Bheegi bheegi palkein meri udaas, tere liye
[Tears are flowing from my eyes for you]

Lost in her thoughts she failed to notice a pair of strong arms reaching out and encircling her waist. Her body stiffened at the sudden contact and her eyes widen in surprise. "Prem," she uttered. He tightened his hold around her as she tried to break free from his grasp. "How much longer do we have to go on like this?" he asked huskily in her ear. "Let's stop this tonight."

Ankhiyan beechai maine tere liye
[My eyes search for you]
Duniya bhulayi maine tere liye
[I forget the whole world when I'm remembering you]

Heer fidgeted trying to protest. "Prem..."

"Sshh..." he whispered and gently place placed a finger on her lips in the effort to silence her. He nuzzled his nose against her cheek. "We were both wrong and you know it. It's been a horrible two weeks...can't we just start over?"

Jannate sajayi main tere liye
[I brought heaven on earth for you]
Chod di khudai maine tere liye
[I forget worldly existence for you]
Jannate sajayi maine tere liye
[I brought heave on earth for you]
Chod di khudai oooh~
[I forgot worldly existence~]

Heer was having trouble concentrating as his hot breath brushed across her skin sending a wave of tingly sensations through her body. He continued to nuzzle her and she felt his lips graze against her jaw line. Heer slowly closed her eyes giving into the moment of just being with him again. She felt him lift her hand up and place a gentle kiss on her finger tips. "I've missed you so," Prem softly said as he titled her chin towards him. Heer opened her eyes to see his deep mocha eyes staring back at her. "I need you just as much as you need me," he said and slowly closed the distance between their lips. Heer's heart was beating rapidly in her chest as her lips parted and her eyelids closed waiting for him to take what belonged to him.

Tere liye,
[For you]
Jhoomoon deewana banke tere liye
[I dance with your memories]
Wada hai mera main hoon tere liye
[I promise you I'm just for you]
Hona kabhi na tu judaaa...
[Don't ever leave me]

The gentle sprinkling of something wet falling awoke Heer to the reality of where she was. It was starting to rain outside and the wind was blowing the soft droplets towards her direction. She turned her head about realizing everything she had seen and felt was just a dream. Prem was nowhere in sight. She shook her head in slight defeat. The rain was becoming stronger and suddenly a violent flood poured downward. She jumped backwards a bit taken aback by the downpour. Normally she would have been running around in the rain but the wind was starting to pick up and the rolling thunder sent a dangerous warning that this was not the time to play. Heer quickly closed the French doors before any more of the living room carpet got soaked.

Tere liye,
[For you]
Jhoomoon deewana banke tere liye
[I dance with your memories]
Wada hai mera main hoon tere liye
[I promise you I'm just for you]
Hona kabhi na tu judaaa...
[Don't ever leave me]

She backed away and turned around to be greeted by what she thought was another illusion of hers. Prem was walking into the foyer soaking wet. He was too busy undoing his bow tie and running his hands through his hair shaking off the excess water to notice Heer walking cautiously towards him. Her eyes were in awe wondering why her mind was playing tricks on her again. He looked almost real but then again what she had felt earlier was just as real.

Tere liyeee...Tere liyeee...Tere liyeee...Tere liyeee...
[For you...for you...for you...for you...]

Prem took his shoes off and nearly slipped on the marble floors from his wet socks. Heer automatically reached out and grabbed the collar of his jacket pulling him forward. Prem's eyes widen at seeing her up so late. They flexed in concern wondering why she was staring at him like that. Heer's eyes gently roamed over his figure realizing as her hands held onto the damp fabric of his jacket that he was really there and not some figment of her imagination. "Did I wake you?" he asked in a soft whisper as their eyes met.

Bheegi bheegi raat mein
[Amidst these wet nights]
Lekar je tujhko saath mein
[Together we]
Madhosh hue jaayein hum
[are lost amongst ourselves]
Aa fasle karrane de kum
[Come near me and let's remove any distance between us]

Heer continued staring at him while her hands gripped his jacket. Prem gently placed his hands on top of her hands and guided them away from his soggy clothing. "I got caught in the storm while waiting for a taxi," he explained as his eyes continued to lock with hers. Prem wasn't sure what the cause was for Heer's strange behavior but he could feel something different in the atmosphere around them. He tired slipping off his jacket but the soaked material along with his cast was making it difficult. Heer helped him remove his jacket and noticed how his white shirt clung to his muscular build. Her eyes lingered on his chest noticing how transparent the fabric around that area had become. Then realizing what she was doing she shifted her eyes and quietly said, "I'll go get you a towel." Prem's eyes stared intently and felt a slow chill spread through him as the lingering heat of her presence evaporated as she retreated from his view.

Zara pass tu aa mere
[Come close to me]
Dheere se chu jaa mujhe
[Touch me softly]
Kho jaaun tere pyaar mein
[I get lost in your love]
Baahon mein bhar le mujhe, wooooo...
[Take me in your arms]

Heer drew a deep breath and clutched her hand to her chest trying to stop the crazy beating of her heart. The smoldering wet image of Prem flashed before her eyes and she felt her stomach do a nervous flip. She cursed her hormones for doing this to her as she was supposed to be angry at him and not fantasizing about him. Heer took another deep breath and walked out of the bathroom with a towel. She was surprised to see Prem standing in the middle of the bedroom. She handled him the towel and was about to move away when he suddenly seized her shoulder with his good hand. Heer turned and stared at him wondering what he wanted. She forced herself to sternly say, "Let go," and tried moving away.

"Don't move," Prem commanded.

Tere liye,

Wada hai mera main hoon tere liye

"Prem..." she replied rather annoyed. He cupped her mouth as his pulled her towards him with his right arm encircling her waist. He tried being gently knowing how the cast on his wrist was hard and inflexible. "Sshh..." he ordered as she tried to protest. Heer stared at him wide eyed as his words reminded her of her dream earlier. She was feeling deja vu despite the scenario being completely different than what she had hallucinated. She saw a droplet of rain water gently fall from his hair and roll down his cheek. His damp eyelashes glistened softly at her as he continued to stare into her eyes. "Don't go," he whispered. He lifted his hand from her mouth and with his index finger gingerly touched the area below her right eye. "Eyelash," he informed as he held his finger up for her to see. And in that moment Heer suddenly realized what she had thought she had seen as a romantic kiss at the club with Ashlesha was actually what was occurring to her right now. The position and angle seemed so familiar to her. She hadn't seen properly when she was at the club because of crowd and she didn't stick around to see what Prem was really doing as her mind already jumped to the conclusion he was doing something he shouldn't be doing. Prem let her go and lifted her hand so he could lay the eyelash on her knuckle. "You're suppose to make a wish right?" he asked. Heer looked at her hand and gently blew the eyelash off while Prem smiled with satisfaction at her action.

Heer frowned as she saw him struggle with the cummerbund and brushed his hands away taking over the task for him. She hung the wet cummerbund on a hanger and placed it on the doorknob of the closet so it could dry. Prem untucked his shirt and glanced at Heer waiting for her to come back and help him with his shirt. Knowing what he was waiting for she stood in front of him her fingers gliding effortlessly as they unbuttoned the wet material while her mind felt uneasy and slightly guilty at the possible truth behind what she thought she had seen. She still needed to confirm her thoughts and wondered what would be the best way to start a conversation that had been ignored for so long. Prem gently gazed at Heer's face noting that she seemed to be in deep thought over something. As he felt the cotton fabric loosen and the cool air touch his skin he shivered slightly. "You should go a take a shower," Heer instructed. Prem nodded and successfully pulled his left arm out of his sleeve. The right half still clung to him as his cast obstructed the wet fabric's ability to slip off his skin. Heer gently clutched the fallen portion of the shirt and pulled the material towards her freeing his arm. The sight of his bare chest now fully exposed to her eyes sent an unknown hunger through her body to reach out and touch him. Prem steadily stepped forward closing the distance between them and took the shirt in his hands slowly pulling it from her hands as he gazed intensely into Heer's eyes. "Thanks," he whispered. "You should go to sleep its late." Heer wanted to say something but for whatever reason the words were failing to come forward from her mouth. She just silently watched as Prem grabbed his pajamas from his suitcase and entered the bathroom.

Tere liyeee...Tere liyeee...Tere liyeee...Tere liyeee...
[For you...for you...for you...for you...]

*********************************************************

Prem silently exited the bathroom feeling refreshed and clean from his shower. He glanced over to his left and found Heer curled up in the bed with her back facing him. He gently smiled glad she took his advice and went to sleep. He looked on pondering what to do and decided it was best he just sleep in the living room for the night. They had forgotten to order the pull away bed before they left for the party so he had no choice but to crash on the couch.

Thirty minutes later Prem was staring up at the ceiling hugging a cushion frowning realizing no matter how he positioned his body he was not going to be able to fall asleep on the couch. He sighed as he turned to his side. Prem knew better than to push his luck with the way things were going with his relationship with Heer but he had seen the glimmers of a resolution between them ever since they arrived in New York. The entire day had been strange to say the least. Despite whatever was bothering them they couldn't keep their eyes off of each other. He buried his head in frustration wondering what would be the tipping point to make them patch up. He sat up and tossed the cushion to the side and decided he couldn't go on like this any longer. He needed to sleep. Prem crept silently back into the bedroom and made his way over to the king sized bed. The bed was big enough for both of them and really could sleep three adults comfortably. He was willing to take the risk of being yelled at for the sake of his back and neck. He cautiously climbed into the bed and paused ever second or so to gauge any reaction coming from the other side. He smiled to himself after a few minutes of silent listening. Satisfied that he hadn't woke her, he turned to his side ready to get a good night's sleep.

Little did Prem know Heer had been awake the whole time. She was having just as much trouble sleeping as he was. She had heard him enter the room and was just waiting for him to settle into the bed. She cautiously glanced over her shoulder and spied him sleeping with his back facing her. He was quite far from her considering the size of the bed. She pondered briefly what to do and then decided to go ahead and take the chance. Prem's eyes popped open and his body stiffened at the rustling sound coming from the other side of the bed thinking he had just been caught. He was waiting for the fall out when he suddenly felt Heer's body right next to him. She had one arm wrapped around his waist while the other rested on his back. "It's okay. Don't leave Prem," she whispered. Heer nuzzled her cheek against his broad back and clung to him tightly. A strange silence filled the room as Prem let her hold him in the darkness. He felt the odd sensation of something wet seeping through the back of his white undershirt. "Heer?" he asked in alarm as he turned around.

Heer really didn't understand why she was suddenly crying. The tears just started flowing and she couldn't stop them. The minute Prem rolled around she buried herself in his embrace. Prem soothed her as tenderly as the cast on his wrist allowed him to do. He silently cursed his injury as it barred him from being able to properly hold her. After a few minutes Heer sniffled and pulled back feeling embarrassed at her own emotional outburst. "Sorry," she meekly replied.

Prem shook his head, "Are you all right?" he asked. "Did something happen at home? Is your Dad okay?"

"Everything's fine at home," Heer replied. Prem's body relaxed at her words glad that her father was all right but he his eyes continued to look on worriedly at her. "I need to ask you something. That night at the club did anything happen to between you and Ashlesha?"

Prem flexed his eyebrows, "Why would there be anything happening between me and Ashlesha?" He pondered for a few seconds recalling what had occurred that night at the club and his conversation with Ashlesha. Then a slow realization dawned at him as he remembered what she had said to him about "what others would think" when he had removed her fallen eyelash and then Heer's anger towards him about "having fun with her cousin". He felt stupid for not connecting these two events earlier. "Heer, I would never dream of doing something. I just removed a fallen eyelash from Ashlesha's face. What did you think you saw?"

"I thought you kissed her," Heer replied and lowered her head feeling ashamed of thinking that way about him. "I know I shouldn't have done that...jumping to conclusions...I didn't see clearly what happened and I just left after I saw you get close to her...the angle and position and everything just made it look like you kissed her...you were so angry that night...I just assumed you wanted revenge..."

"Revenge...never. It was hard seeing Prashant kissing you...it's an image no man ever wants to see...their girl being kissed by someone else. I could have handled it better but knowing who he is and what he's trying to do just sent me over the edge," Prem explained.

"You never saw what happened next did you?" Heer asked. Prem shook his head. "I slapped him real hard...I was so angry. I never saw it coming...he just grabbed me and kissed me...I barely had any time to react."

"I'm sorry," they both said at the same time and then slightly chuckled at their timing.

"I guess I was just as bad as you were...and I was even giving you a lecture on trust," Heer sighed.

"We both failed here," Prem replied. "But you were right...if we can't trust each other how are we going to be able to make it through everything else...making a life together...having kids...building our own family?"

Heer was touched by his words of their future together. "It's something we're going to have to work on," she said and inched closer to him her nose barely touching his. "I'm not ready to give up."

Prem felt her sultry breath against his lips and leaned forward inviting her to complete what she started. "Neither am I," he whispered.

They kissed gently savoring the touch after being away from each other for so long. Heer tenderly cupped Prem's face with her left hand as they entered into an intense round of lip locking. She felt feathery and light like she was almost flying with each touch that passed between them. Her body felt content lying next to him on the bed while her heart was all aflutter feeling his love covering her warmly in this precious moment they were sharing. Prem nibbled on Heer's lower lip simply enjoying being with her again. He never thought kissing her could feel this good. His body was satisfied with just this action and didn't feel the need to press for more.

After some time Prem was feeling the left side of his body going slightly numb. He knew if he was feeling some muscle strain Heer was feeling it too. He gently pulled her on top of him so they could continue in a new position allowing some of their muscles to relax and rest. Their tongues continued to gently caress each other as they explored the warm cavern of their mouths. Heer sucked lightly on Prem's tongue and grinned at his eager response. He returned the favor and delicately rubbed her back with his good hand. Eventually they broke apart and smiled at each other. "We should probably get some sleep," Prem said.

"We should," Heer replied giving him loving kiss.

"Then we need to stop..." Prem said grinning as he gave her another short kiss.

Heer giggled against his mouth. "We're not very good at this...stopping..."

Prem sighed happily, "No, not very good at all..." He then swiftly rolled her onto her back. Heer winced, "Aaaah, Prem..." His eyes perked in panic as he realized what happened. He pulled his right hand out from underneath her back. "Sorry, you okay?" Heer whimpered and rolled Prem onto his back as she slumped onto her stomach trying to use her hands to rub herself. "You're not kidding that thing is like a rock," she replied. Prem sat up and messaged the area for her with his good hand. "So sorry Heer," he apologized and spread tiny kisses along her backside. "I'm fine now," Heer replied as she turned over.

"D*mn this stupid cast!" Prem complained waving his right hand in the air. "I can't do anything with this thing on."

Heer softly giggled, "Don't do anything rash. You're supposed to wear it for another four weeks."

"Why? It doesn't hurt anymore," Prem replied.

"Because the doctor said so. I think he would know more about your fracture healing than you would," Heer said. She then pulled him down. "Let's go to sleep we have a dinner with the clients tomorrow on their yacht. It won't look good if we show up half asleep."

"That's at night," Prem said. "We can sleep in a little."

"I want to see a bit of the city. It's my first time here," Heer said. "Nihaal just had to have a business trip this weekend so that means you have to be my tour guide."

"Tour guide, huh? How about I give you a tour of this hotel room?" Prem cheekily commented. Heer rolled her eyes and gently slapped his chest. "Okay, okay..." Prem smirked and held her hand. "We'll do some tourist stuff before dinner tomorrow."

Heer smiled and rested her head on his chest. "Thank you."

"Sweet dreams," Prem smiled as he placed a tender kiss on her forehead. Heer snuggled comfortably against him and mumbled, "You too..." before closing her eyes and falling fast asleep. Prem's eyes drooped happily unable to fight against the tiredness he was feeling and the rest he needed. The couple slept soundly nestled against each other feeling the warm embrace of their love for one another.

*************************************************

He smiled gently at the way she clung to the bed sheets. And noted the soft curve of her face and the way her silky hair flowed freely down her shoulder making her simply adorable to him. He furrowed his eyebrows remembering what he had to do and sighed that he was about to disturb her sleep. If he could he would let her continue drifting off in her dream world while he sat by her side watching over her like some guardian angel. He reached out with his hand and then paused wondering if this was the best thing to do considering her temperament. He retracted his arm and softly called, "It's time to wake up." She stirred and grumbled something in audible. "Wake up," he repeated.

Meher rolled onto her back and smacked her mouth as she opened her eyes. "What is it that you want Didi?"

"Didi? Since when did I become a girl?" Preet asked.

Meher's eyes widen at the sound of Preet's voice and she turned her head to see him standing by her bed smiling at her. She grabbed the covers and pulled them to her chest. "Preet! Wwwhat are you doing here in my room?" she hissed.

"I came to wake you," Preet replied.

"Ever heard of knocking on the door? What if someone sees you here in my room?" Meher panicked.

"I did knock but you didn't answer so I poked my head in and you were still sleeping," Preet explained.

"What time is it?" Meher asked. She thought it was quite peculiar that she had slept in as she always woke up early.

"5am," Preet replied.

"5am?" Meher repeated. "You woke me up at 5am? Preeeet! I usually wake up 6 why didn't you just wait until then to talk to me?"

"Today's the big day," Preet answered.

Meher hit the palm of her hand on her forehead, "Oi....I know what today is. Couldn't you wait?"

"I couldn't sleep. I mean this is one of last chances to catch Prashant. We need to find the evidence. PB is counting on us. Aren't you worried? This will affect your sister too," Preet said.

"Is Harman awake too?" Meher asked.

"No not yet. I was going to wake him up next," Preet grinned.

"What lock company is going to be working at 5am in the morning?" Meher asked grumpily.

"Look you're already awake. Go ahead and get ready. I'll go wake up Harman and then we can go out and grab some breakfast," Preet said.

"Fine," Meher said as she got out of bed. "You know Maya is not going to be very happy when she receives a call at 5am."

"Well, I'm not the one calling. Harman is," Preet snickered.

"Do you think Prem Jiju and Heer Didi made up yet?" Meher asked as she made the bed.

"I'm pretty sure they did. They're all alone...sharing the Penthouse suite...what better place for PB to romance?" Preet replied.

"What!? They're sharing a room?" Meher asked.

Preet jumped back a little at her outburst. "She didn't tell you?"

"No, she didn't," Meher answered. "Hmmm...makes me wonder what else she's neglecting to tell me."

"Well, they're both grownups. I'm telling you the quick fire way to solve this whole problem is having a kid," Preet replied. "No way Prashant's family is going to agree to the marriage...and everyone will know PB and Heer Bhabhi love each other...otherwise they wouldn't have done ahem...ahem...your Dad can't get that mad."

Meher rolled her eyes at Preet's rationalization of a pregnancy scenario. "You're forgetting the fact that all the parents would have a heart attack. And you talk about this scenario a little too much...why are you so happy about them getting pregnant?"

"What's not to like about it? Rishi's 3 and Kulraj Di has another one on her way...their kid would have great play mates. And I'll have another niece or nephew to dote on," Preet smiled.

"You really love kids don't you? Please don't tell me you want to have 10 kids or something," Meher said.

"Nah, 10 is way too much. But three to six is pretty good...the more the merrier...I mean look at our family...Kulraj Di, PB, Harman Bhaiya, me, and Veera...we've had some really good times together." Preet said fondly reminiscing. "And you come from a family with two other siblings...I'm sure you've had some great times together too."

Meher smiled, "Yea, we did and we still do."

"How many kids do you want?" Preet asked.

"Three is fine but any more than that I don't think I could handle," Meher replied.

"Okay three it is," Preet murmured not really paying attention to what he was alluding to.

Meher arched her eyebrow, "Excuse me?" Preet stared at her wondering why she was looking at him strangely. "Did you just say we'll have three?"

Preet's face suddenly turned red at her comment, "Um, I'm...I'm going to go wake up Harman," he replied all flustered. "See you later down stairs," he said quickly and ran out the door before Meher could probe him any further.
