Forever – Part 5
Geet heard a thud at bathroom door in the morning 'yes, what happened?' she asked from inside. 'I'm waiting for you in the car' Maan answered and walked away quickly, not wanting to know her response. 'He is a complete mystery, babaji please don't create any more problems' she murmured while showering. Slowly she stepped out of the bathroom and looked around the room assuring her that he was gone. She hit herself against the table accidentally and spilled the coffee over it. 'Hey babaji, what am I going to do now? What if he comes back to get his coffee back?' she murmured frighteningly while dressing up. Before she could come out she heard a knock at the door making her shiver because of terror. 'I can't wait for so long' it was him again.
With a heavy bag, Geet came out of the house and headed towards the car, where Maan was waiting for her. He was shocked to see her coming with a heavy bag so came out of the car and asked 'what is in your hands?' Geet decided to face him bravely this time knowing that he was not bad at heart though he showed attitude 'don't you see, it's a bag' she answered back. Knowing that she has the courage, he felt relieved for a while but swifted his mood again 'what are you staring at, now? Hurry up and get in to the car, I'm already late because of you'. His tone was so rude that she could not control herself and broke into tears. 'Now stop it, I don't think you can get anything by crying so better not to waste your tears' he was rude but whatever he said was right. 'Thank you' she said while sitting in the car obediently. 'So, did you have coffee?' she smiled secretly when she comes to know that he kept the coffee for her. He too smiled when he realized what he just asked her and concentrated on driving.
He stopped the car after a while and asked where she needs to go for which she could not answer properly 'I don't have any particular place to go here in this city, I better go on my own without causing you any more troubles' she tried to get out of the car. He stopped her by putting his hand on hers and said 'I know you don't belong to here, but if you agree to pay rent I could share my apartment with you'. Geet opened her mouth in surprise and murmured 'hey babaji, how can he even think that a guy and a girl to share the same apartment'. Maan became furious hearing her self talk, 'what do you think of yourself? If I want to do anything with you I would have done it last night because there was no one who could help you' he banged on the steering wheel of his car. Geet lowered her gaze and tried to recall last night looking at him gratefully, knowing he was a man with a golden heart and then whispered 'sorry'.
Maan stopped the car in the portico of his apartment and carried her bag inside asking her to follow him inside. She looked into the living room which was nicely organized indicating the perfectionism he preferred in his life. 'Now why are you staring at this place? Feel free and live here as this is your own house, I will bring out my belongings from the bed room, but we have to share the washroom and sorry for that' he kept on explaining her the rules he wanted her to follow while she stays there 'one more thing, my Daadima will come to meet on Sundays and I don't want her to see you here' being himself was the most important thing for him.
Geet made him breakfast that day but he refused to eat it saying that he was health conscious and he hates oily food. She sat alone and ate her portion knowing that there will not be any one to have breakfast with her. Maan looked at her from the living room and smiled when she accidentally put her hand across her cheek making it messy with food. He handed her a key of his apartment when she decided to go out in search of a job. As he got a chance all alone for himself, Maan ran into the kitchen and ate the food she cooked for him. 'This is so good and thanks a lot for making such a lovely breakfast' he complimented and thanked her after eating. It was at the very same time Geet returned home to take her handbag from there.
