Young Aasiya Kazi has portrayed several phases of life — from daughter to wife to mother and now grandmother — while playing the lead character of Santo in Bandini.
The actress admits that playing a character twice her age onscreen has evoked a mixed reaction from the public. "Many people called and asked why I am doing this but I feel happy and that's it," she smiles. A defiant Aasiya is happy proving a point. "I have no problem with ageing on screen because people still appreciate me as an actor, which is more important for me," states Aasiya. "I want to break the notion that actors do not like to age on TV," she concludes firmly.
